Hiccup and Toothless took a glance at each other in their peripheral vision. In the years since they'd met, the pair had learned how to each other an instant. An unspoken plan was worked out and agreed on in that spit-second look.

"Nope." Hiccup said, as he and Toothless booked it out of there, back the way they came. Toothless nosed under Hiccup's legs, shoveling his rider onto his saddle.

It wasn't solely for their own benefit that they ran. Hiccup had no desire to injure Dipper any more than he already had been, not while there was still a chance of saving him.
