The spider-dolls evidently chose a bad direction to scamper off in, as a short distance away, there's the growl of a dog and a crunch of breaking clockwork.

The former, thankfully, is from a perfectly normal looking shiba inu rather than some grisly depraved Cujo - and where Koromaru goes, Ken is rarely far behind (or is it the other way around). There's another, slightly less dramatic crunching sound as he pulls his spear back out from where its head is buried in one of the dolls.

The other one is now getting the hell out of dodge, because these are evidently not the easily terrified children it was looking for.
