The part of him that still has a grip on things hears that voice and immediately wants it gone. Not Lena--anyone but her, not when he feels minutes away from crawling out of his own skin. Whatever's happened to him is going to make him hurt her, and he doesn't think he'll be able to live with that (but maybe he won't have to).

Jack tries to swallow all that down, because he's still stubborn enough to tell himself he can fight this. There's no time to think about it anyway, because she's run out into the middle of the hallway, putting herself smack in the middle of what's about to be an extremely ugly situation.

The one good thing about fighting his way through the Crisis is that his response to a Bastion unit (or two, or three) is automatic. He doesn't even have to think about how to take them down because it's all reflex, at this point. This is what he was built to do, and he springs into action immediately.

"Get back!"

Because the first thing he's going to do is dash past her, unloading his trio of rockets right at the units in the precious second he has before they recalibrate for the new target and open fire.
