The door at the 'top' of the stairway overhead creaks open and Victor tentatively pokes his head through. His hair falls unexpectedly forward around his face as gravity's pull on it changes direction. It makes his stomach swoop, and he grips the door frame harder even though the shift doesn't appear to be affecting his body.

"You're not someone else's monster, are you?" he asks, spying the glow that is (hopefully) also the source of the swearing.
