Grif isn't cut out for this shit, but that's exactly why the Faceless hasn't managed to touch him. For once, Grif's fear is an asset. He's too afraid of the Faceless for it to offer him peace or safety, and his bitterness is not enough to get over that hurdle into usable anger.
