Maybe he is. Gabriel can't deny that he hasn't gone over that possibility. It was something of an obstacle he'd come across numerous times, but there were rare times he went with his gut instincts. This was one of them. If he lingered too long on what if's, nothing would get done. So far, nothing has jumped out at him as being a glaring mistake, so he only scoffs at Jack.

"We'll just have to wait and see."

Jack might think Gabriel doesn't take any of the things he says seriously, and it's true that those words don't get through to him now, but if they do? If there's any strong evidence that'll back Jack's claim? Well, it's not something he'd be looking forward to, but that's a bridge he'll cross when he gets to it.
