Gohan couldn't help but bite his lower lip at that, his mind immediately jumping to his battle with himself. His younger self was already a good example of how power could corrupt him, and he in no way wanted a repeat of something like that.

"... Maybe that's why we need someone pure-hearted to grab it." Gohan thought out-loud. "Maybe the lack of any inner darkness means there's enough purity in there to act as a buffer against the corruption. As long as it's only held for a little bit."
