truefaceofthelaw: (yelling)

Rico ignores the commentary this time, focusing on doing his job. Moving through the ventilation system is a bit of a tight fit, but doable. It's a cinch to navigate through the rotating fans, as he simply just crawls through them using his intangibility, something that necessitates an absolute, unwavering faith in his own abilities. Not his problem how the one behind him figures it out.

He finally reaches a ventilation hatch, and looks through the open slats. The back of the glorified armchair is clearly visible from here. Rico pauses, running through his options. Normally this would be the time to crash through the hatch, but it's just far enough that he would lose the advantage of surprise. There's not enough space to take out the lawrod on his back either, which is frustrating enough. Then he sees the overgrown rat on the ground silently lift the grate cover, and he knows he has to make his move soon.

"I'm going in." Rico murmurs into his comms. Anyone who might advise him otherwise is summarily ignored.

This is going to take some agility. He quietly unlatches the hatch, and lowers himself down, fingers hanging onto the metal edge. He swings himself forward, calculating the trajectory, and lets go.

He falls down and twists in the air, whipping out a lawgiver from his boot holster as he does.

"Justice department! Freeze!"

His boots hit the throne, landing in a cat's crouch. It would've been better if he could land feet first on him, but he was better off sticking the safer landing. Rico is all too vulnerable in this position, which is why he raises his lawgiver, thumb flicking the velocity setting to '1' just as his other hand reaches out to rip the inhibitor from Brainiac 6's head. That was supposed to be the plan all along, but call the lawgiver an insurance policy.
