They both have their own idea of a way to the children so the hole in the ground combines them both. It opens up like the hole of a burrow but inside it is a swirlng warp gate large enough to accomodate American's bike. They can see a distorted image of what's on the other side - a group of criminals in a section of some kind of base, keeping guard.

Not far away, the creature hits the walls America left, then the phosphorus. There are explosions, shrieking, sand being thrown in the air, but it still only slowed it down. They don't have much time.
