Rich's body locks up. He still tries to rush forward but is clearly being slowed down, and the tentacles all over his body writhe and raise up, almost like they're trying to squirm away from Rich. Clearly, they don't like sharing space, and they're cringing away from what they're sharing space with because it's completely toxic to them.

He's still fighting them, trying to bash them all to pieces but he's at least been stopped from running forward and just bowling them all over like he's a linebacker.
