This wasn't a totally unfamiliar scenario to Danny. He had tried to overshadow powerful opponents before, and always ended up in a struggle to control the body. It was like two people trying to get through a small door frame, a bunch of shoving as they tried to squeeze through.

The thing was, most people weren't prepared for it. So the longer he overshadowed them, the harder it got. The surprise was half the work, especially if they knew it was happening.

Which is where Danny's next dumb idea kicked in.

"Oh shut up already." He bantered, slipping out of her body. But only for a second, before diving right back in. The new plan: overshadow her over and over, don't give her the chance to get used to it. His voice now coming from her mouth, as he continued. "You're not even the first 'evil future self' I've fought, lady."
