"You say that like I'll even think of boxing gloves. All my instincts are to do the punching myself." A pause. "Which aren't exactly good instincts to have when your invulnerability and superstrength are gone, by the way."

He was actually a little nervous about that. The Surfer could've injured him like that either way. Even if he'd still had his invulnerability, there would've been nothing stopping him from rearranging his molecules as he saw fit.

But this was different.

"I lost my powers a few times off and on, but for the most part I haven't been this squishy since I was twenty-one. If I follow through on some of my usual fighting instincts I'm gonna shatter bones."

That was when he'd gotten his powers back and kept them (for the most part).
