Dipper knew he was supposed to probably be afraid. He knew that a giant battlefield full of scary monsters and possible death was supposed to be, well...scary. And it was. These were genuine psychopaths they were going up against and while no one had directly died in front of him so far, the rings zipping around were making it clear that people were dying. Not all of them were red and yellow, either.
So he wasn't necessarily happy to be out here, fighting like this.
But he also wasn't really that afraid. That was something that was happening more and more during his time as a Legionnaire. Oh sure, they kept facing horrible things, but everything was so different now. He wasn't just a scared, powerless kid anymore. And that made all the difference in the world.
Green Lanterns were supposed to be able to overcome great fear. Ignoring it, on the other hand, pretending it wasn't there, wasn't such a good idea. But right now Dipper was shoving all his fear aside and he felt like he could take on the world. Maybe it was the way the power of the green ring was bolstering his self-assurance, but even his telekinesis was more controlled, buoyed up by his confident mental state.
Maybe it was the fact that all the monsters, all the yellow Lanterns with their too-many teeth and too-many claws, were fleeing from him on the battlefield. Just like he'd done during practice, he was lobbing horrible Gravity Falls monsters at them left and right. Never Bill and his henchmaniacs, because that was just...too much. But the other monsters? He wasn't afraid of those. They were all things he and his sister, and his Grunkles, and his friends had overcome.
Heck, some of them were even his friends. The Multi-bear was a particularly horrifying-looking creature to throw at enemies, but he was kind-hearted in reality and had the same taste for top 40's hits. To Dipper, he was a friendly -- even protective - entity. It was the same for many of the others. The gnomes had become allies over times, but Yellow Lanterns didn't know that, all they knew was that being tackled by waves of tiny creatures with razor sharp teeth was pretty terrifying, especially when they were the ones that were supposed to be doing all the attacking with sharp teeth.
Dipper was smart enough and good enough at multi-tasking to manage a few constructs going at once, so they wandered around him, zapping and "eating" Yellow Lanterns. Before long, yellows started trying to run away away, because even hardened killers found it alarming to be besieged by giant floating babies that shot lasers from their eyes, zombies, gremloblins, lumberjack ghosts with axes stuck in their heads, or...whatever that thing was.
"Don't tell me you're scared!" he taunted, while a yellow Lantern screamed as they were gobbled up by a giant construct of a gremloblin. Inside it, where only Dipper knew they were there, restraints trapped them, turning it into a makeshift prison where they could be kept until they were turned over to the authorities. To the outside, it looked like they might have been actually eaten -- which was the point. What the yellow Lanterns didn't know would only help him win the fight, right?
"You guys are the fear guys! Rule number one of being the fear guys: you can't be scared if you're supposed to be doing the scaring." One of them broke through a manotaur construct and seemed to think they were home free to hurt Dipper, but then he lashed out with his telekinesis, slammed them so hard they got knocked out, and the gremloblin gobbled them up, too. "Or else something like that will happen."
Someone could've made the argument that Dipper was perhaps enjoying this just a little too much -- but how often in the past had he been the one that was scared? It felt good to be the one doing the scaring for once.
[ooc: Tag me and then we'll pick a yellow Lantern to fight together!]
