headinjuries: in a space helmet is really the only way to do it. (let's just say that watching the sunrise)

Well, those were...special.

Sam wasn't a stranger to weird and freaky sights; he'd seen a few pretty nasty things out tripping through the galaxy. But his ring was violet, and so his style was more fitting of that; he drew on the things he loved, not things he'd feared. Lots of sports equipment - smacking opponents around with baseball bats, raining balls and pucks on them, tackling them with the entire starting lineup of the Arizona Cardinals. Some video games - blasting them down with the kinds of guns that, before his superheroing career started, he had figured only really existed in virtual worlds, not the real one.

And here and there, the image of a man with the same uniform and the same helmet as himself, but clearly older and taller.

It was that last one that plowed into a yellow who'd been moving in behind Dipper, taking him on a wild loop-the-loop until he crashed into a red and they both went careening away.

"Watch your six," Sam said brightly. "Actually, I probably should've said that first and then knocked him over, huh?"
