He could almost hear Kaelynn in Dipper's voice. He could almost see his mother again in Dipper's eyes, the time Kaldera had taken her hostage to force him into a fight without powers. That time he'd had an ace up his sleeve, at least. Vance and Robbie had gotten his helmet back to him. If someone was going to stoop to tactics like this, he had zero compunction about breaking the rules himself -
But here, he had his helmet on. The limiting force on his powers was something else entirely. And he didn't have backup.
He had to do something.
"Don't you dare," he snarled, trying to charge up despite Romat-Ru's words. Evil lied all the time. Maybe this thing wasn't really a power collector. Maybe he could at least outpace however it sucked things out, even if it actually did work as advertised...
He couldn't. The glow of the Nova Force around him, normally almost blindingly bright, was dim and barely visible no matter how fast he tried to call it up. And despite his best efforts, he was having no luck in wrenching himself free.
"Just - hit him, Dipper, pretend I'm not even here!"
It was going to hurt like hell, but that was nothing new. If this guy got both of them, and if he kept going...
