It could be said Alexander had something of a sixth sense regarding danger, but fighting in an unusual and unfamiliar situation like this meant he could only react so quickly.

The first two shots didn't manage to fully penetrate his construct, but left it damaged enough that the two following shots would have a clear path to him if he didn't move fast enough. Reacting as quickly as possible when the first shots hit, he twisted himself around, pushing himself out of the construct just as the last two rounds were about to connect. The trajectory of the shots were altered enough when penetrating the rest of the construct that they managed to miss the mark.

Still, one shot managed to hit Alexander in the side abdomen. His ring reacted quickly enough to keep him from bleeding out, but the damage was pretty serious. They'd have to finish this quickly if they both wanted to make it out alive.

"Give me some cover, and I'll do what I can," he called to Jason through gritted teeth, holding his wound.

Alexander quickly willed another construct into existence, this time taking the form of a giant archer. The construct mimicked his movements as he moved it to draw back its massive bow, watching for the next sign of movement from their assailant.

"Let me show you how a Hawkeye hunts dragons..." he murmured, waiting for the opportunity to strike.
