Hal hadn't been able to get Dipper out of the Sinestro Corps' base, and that was going to be eating at him for a while. But there was no way he was giving up on getting the kid out of the yellows' influence, and so he'd been shadowing Dipper across the battlefield, looking for an opportunity.

Hiccup was better than an opportunity, though - Hiccup, he was sure, was equally invested in getting the kid back out of this mess, so Hal placed himself on Dipper's other side, but in talking range.

"I hate to be the bad news guy, but he's definitely gonna make it harder. Sinestro Corps hazing is nasty stuff."
