Aizawa didn't rest on his laurels. The primary issue at hand had been resolved, albeit briefly. He wouldn't be able to continually keep his eyes on the thief but at that point he had isolated a necessary conditional piece of information: the overwhelmingly useful barrier could be disabled externally with his quirk.

He plunged from the squad car into darkness, well ahead of the thief. His 'Erasure' ceased working in that moment. What Aizawa saw as the thief regained momentum was something his eyes couldn't interfere with--some sort of energy bubble propelling him by the heels. Aizawa filed that bit of information away. Even so--he wasn't going to give him time to respond. With a tight wrap of his ribbons, Aizawa hurled himself forward and twisted along a telephone pole, curving around the front of the thief's path.

A slit bag of flour flew from Aizawa's hip, spreading its contents in an arc to catch the thief in its spray. A blinking light in the middle of the spray added one more immediate element--a live flashbang grenade. Due to the fact that his ability triggered the moment he set eyes on the thief again, Aizawa didn't shut his eyes when the flashbang went off. He tilted his head slightly to make certain the flashing light was covered by his visor. Though it would give him a headache later, the brunt of the explosive light wouldn't daze him. Trading a headache for a possibly quick takedown wasn't bad at all.
