Aizawa only paused long enough to see if the flashbang would have gone off and stunned him. When the thief darted in another direction, Aizawa shifted his velocity sharply by means of his metal-threaded scarf. He grabbed a light pole with it, hurling himself clear over the fleeing thief. His eyes fell back, watching as the thief blindly tossed little metallic spheres to the ground which adhered to the ground with glue-like strength. He'd have to take a look at those, later.

Unfortunately for the thief, Aizawa was largely merciless. Two things would happen in short succession as he worked quickly to end things before he could build momentum, again. He set his scarf around the thief's left arm with the intent to jerk it behind his back. Then, Aizawa shoved himself on his back right from above, jamming his knee into his side. The momentum from his fall was meant to drive him to the ground not on his face, but on his shoulder. At most, Aizawa figured dislocating something was preferable over him breaking his nose into his brain. Plus, it would help disable the other arm and allow him the time to use the metallic scarf as a threat to break the other arm.
