Aizawa took the time to blink the moment he heard the thief suck in a particularly hard breath. He waited for the cruiser to catch up. It would take them only a minute or so to land and settle down by them. Another half minute for them to exit and prepare their restraints. He only had to keep the guy pinned in that time, so Aizawa focused on blinking intermittently. He kept one eye open and intentionally closed the other over and over to ensure his quirk would continue working while he contemplated the best way to close things.

"Alright, enough of that," The sight of the boots just below him had been enough to make his decision clear. Erashead was incredibly thorough and harsh in his approach. With one swift gesture, he snuck his arm around the thief's throat and began cutting off his air with an efficient, practiced gesture. Eraserhead had done it countless times before to more villains than he could count. He knew when to stop and knew how to tell when someone faked passing out early.
