[Group Post] Car Wars: A New Hope

Who| Anybody and everybody you want to throw in! This is a player-made group post.
What| Forming a war rig/battle car convoy to try and reach the edge of the map.
Where| Desert Zone - Nature District - Murderworld Arena - Planet Harrub
When| Day 1 of the Arena, immediately after people are thrown in (or any time they might hook up with the convoy) until the late evening.
Warnings/Notes| We Mad Max now Vehicular violence, regular violence, probably flaming guitars

OOC post discussion

It's a lovely, lovely day in the Desert Zone. The sun's out (because the sun is always out), the spearodactyls are soaring, and monstrous vehicles driven by mercenary tributes and their Warboy henchmen rumble through the dunes and harsh salt flats, hunting for unwary victims.

You are here.

Fortunately, you're not the only one here.

What We're Doing
You woke up with (or close enough to with) another Legionnaire (or Legionnaires) and have banded together. As team members find one another, they're forming a multi-war-rig convoy and making a run straight for the allegedly impenetrable force field in an attempt to break free.

On this journey, they will face opposition from the mercenary tributes. They will also have to cross through the sandstorm about halfway there. (You're also free to bring in your own hazards!)

Because having it all be one gigantic thread would be a mess, we're setting it up for everyone to be able to subthread whatever they want while handwaving the fact the convoy is going to the same place more or less together. Thread, NPC, and plot freely together. There will be a thread reserved for the end of the line.

When We Get There
The "finale" thread will have the Legionnaires reach the edge of the dome and do whatever they'd like to try and break it, instead just proving that they really can't bust out at this point. Then Arcade's hologram will appear to taunt them and use the Arena's teleportation systems to scatter the characters to other locations, wherever players deem fit to drop characters to continue their plot threading outside this post.

How Long Will This Take?
Assume this consumes most of Day 1. Characters will be scattered a little while before nightfall, so you'll have still have some time to do some Day 1 Things™ before Day 2.

Slipping into the driver's side, Donut quickly pulls out a rad looking steering wheel he'd shimmied off a guy while helping him with his flamethrower. He would have high-tailed it out earlier but the warboy offered him a chance to try it and when had Donut ever turned down a guy with a hot piece of--

"There we go."

Steering wheel in place, Donut starts humming, and if you're any kind of cultured soul this song may sound familiar.

"You put your right hand in," he grabs the stick shift. "You put your right hand out." Pulls it back to first gear. "And you shake it all about." He mimics the shake just for the heck of it, clearly having fun with this little escapade. "You do the Hokey-Pokey and you turn yourself around and that's what it's all about!" With a quick thrust of his hand, he drives the stick shift up to neutral in one swift movement that has the rig purring to life.

You've got to be kidding me.

He recognizes the tune just barely, but it wouldn't have mattered how obscure the tune was to him. It was still irritating and stupid all the same. Keeping the vaporous form isn't easy, nor does it last forever, so he keeps vigilant in looking for the best opportunity to strike, which- in all honesty- doesn't look like a whole lot.

Eight. He has eight (8) rounds in his Hellfire shotgun (1), which he'd been saving in case he really needed them. This situation might be one of them.

Making note of its placement, he slowly materializes beneath the disguise that'd been flung off to the side. Sharp angles and massive bulk begin to fill out, and gripping the handle of his gun quickly, he raises it up to Donut's temple.

"Let's skip to putting your head in."

He doesn't pull the trigger though. Not yet. He doesn't want a dead guy at the wheel, swerving wildly while he's still in the vehicle.

The sudden entrance coupled with the gun pointed at his head has Donut jumping in place as a loud yelp escapes him.

Surprise mixed in with fear has his energy shield snapping into place, and pushing against that gun driving it back away from him as he scrambles back 'til his back hits the door.

"D-Don't shoot!"

Aside from the fact that Donut is the only one driving this wacky vehicle, Reaper has no other reason not to. Unfortunately for him (while fortunately for Donut), the driving bit is pretttty important. On top of that, there's a weird force field shoving his gun back, but his grip remains determined as he keeps the gun pointed at him.

"Give me one good reason not to."

The car starts to swerve slightly, as Donut's attention is now currently elsewhere. It's annoying, but he's endured worse.
