The beauty of the randomly-arranged arenas like this is that someone who's been here for a while still won't have been able to memorize the entire layout. Not that Jason would cheat like that, but it is one less accusation to sling his way if anyone ends up being sore over losing to him.
Jason's opted for the pistol model, choosing the red beam for himself. No strap or rifle stock to help stabilize things, but he's never really needed them. It wasn't like there was any recoil to worry about, but anyone who's shot a pistol knew how easy it was to throw your aim off with the slightest tremor or cock of the wrist. But he's pretty confident. His time as a Power Ranger, and his hours on the Science Police shooting ranges have proven to him that he's probably better than nine out of ten guys on the street with this kind of thing.
The real question would be whether or not it would let him stand up to a space soldier's training. There wasn't any lying to himself about this. While he knew for a fact that he wasn't the best martial artist around, not with Videl and Val on the same team, he wasn't sure how he measured up against guys like Wash, McCree, and Master Chief in the gunslinging department.
...Grif didn't even enter into those calculations.
He grinned to himself, unable to keep a bit of bravado in. The comms were meant for teamspeak, but they were just as easily abused for taunts in the free-for-all section. "Don't lose too quickly, guys."
