It might not have been the traditional tale, but Jason was enthralled all the same. He'd seen his fare share of monsters, giants, gods, and titans, but even he couldn't pull away from the spectacle that literally unfolded (or folded) before him. It was hard not to get absorbed into it all: the music, the steady story telling voice of Kubo, and the dramatics of the paper actors. Jason felt like a little kid again watching their favorite cartoon, his eyes round and actually sometimes wincing or smiling when the story had the right part.
So, sure, it wasn't all that scary but it was a very well told story and that could make all the difference really. When Kubo finished Jason applauded, because how could you not?
