And unfortunately, it's pretty hard to lose Dave unless you're really trying. He pauses just to arch an eyebrow at the sorta-kinda attempt, watches the smoke as it darted over to the storage building, and simply timejumped himself forward to catch up. It wasn't even that big a stretch -- he certainly had enough time to lean all nonchalantly against the building before popping back into the regular timeflow.
