The blast to his helmet definitely drew his attention. Even thought it had to fight hard to get through the energy pulse (so much that it didn't do damage to the suit itself) it hit hard enough to almost knock him off his feet.

Then, before he had time to really get back on balance, the webbing caught him by surprise.
