She knew someone was at the campfire when she walked up, and had resigned herself to the possibility of conversation; not that she really minded. It was hard to relax with nothing else to do. She had taken a walk in a random direction - a long walk, in the direction of away - and found herself accosted by dire bats and that killed some time (and some bats) and then cleaning up after took a little more and she still hadn't been able to sleep. Which is when she'd noticed the fire, still burning.
Not knowing what to do with herself was ... a new experience. Not exactly a pleasant one. She was thinking of making "investigate the Legion" her new goal, but ... for now she was on a completely alien planet (not that she could really make out an exaggerated difference enough to feel it, but the thought, at least, was there) and only herself to keep company.
And she could only stare at an omnicom for so long before she got restless.
From a distance the flicker of firelight makes her look like a living shadow, the glint of her belts like beady eyes. The illusion dispels itself when she steps into the light proper; then she's just stood there, dressed in tatters and scraps, a thing of rips and tears that thinks it's a person.
"You couldn't sleep either," Velvet deadpans, playing the role of Captain Obvious this evening.
