At the Ford of Bruinen they left the Road and turning southwards went on by narrow paths among the folded lands. Their purpose was to hold this course west of the Mountains for many miles and days. The country was much rougher and more barren than in the green vale of the Great River in Wilderland on the other side of the range, and their going would be slow; but they hoped in this way to escape the notice of unfriendly eyes. The spies of Sauron had hitherto seldom been seen in this empty country, and the paths were little known except to the people of Rivendell.

"Okay, what?" he says, looking down at his clothes, which look like they're fresh out of a fantasy novel. "What is this?"
Rich pulls out a sword.
"Do you guys hear a voice that just keeps describing everything?" A pause. "Wait, did it say 'Eregion'?
That's what he focuses on. Not "Aragorn." No, the obscure place name.
Open to thread jacking, since there are so many of them
... focusing on how far everyone's faces suddenly were - a lot of things were going to go right over his head. Robbie gasped in alarm, because suddenly shrinking a good two feet (or more) was too terrifying for proper cursing. He did anyway, under his breathe. "What the fuck?"
After thus checking that he wasn't squeaking like a 6 year old at this height, Robbie waded into drawing attention to what was really important. "It probably said Legion, and you're not hearing right because you're a giant."
It had only just occurred to him that the others could've grew. He decided to run with that, because other people growing too tall was highly preferable to him pulling an Incredible Shrinking Man, but he'd been counting how many of the others were haply huge.
Robbie was definitely in the minor minority.
"Are Pym particles a thing in this universe? Questions I should have asked before now." Then, he stepped all over his own question with a joke because what, him worried? Naaaah. Don't ask him about the crazy nightmares he used to have in the Infinite Mansion where Ant-Man's tech would explode and they were all floating in the nanoverse forever. "Hey, Rich, you're finally big enough for your belt."

Victor's hand automatically went for his phone -- omnicom. Whatever, it had a camera and this needed to be immortalized in picture format.
Alas, his groping did not result in a camera. He frowned in confusion, glancing down to see where his pockets had gone, and just about leaped out of his skin when something silvery fluttered at the edge of his vision.
"Oh!" he gasped, capturing the silvery thing in his hand and pulling it in front of his face, to confirm his theory on what it was. "Wow! My hair hasn't been this long in ages! Now I really need to take a selfie!"

He takes a moment to look around at everybody (and absolutely not smirking at tiny Robbie, nope). "This...This really can't be what I think it is, is it?"

It's a good thing Victor doesn't find a camera, because Robbie would not have been a willing participant in any photos currently. He took a moment to glance himself over, anyway, now that hair and selfies have been mentioned. His own hair was shorter, but that hardly seemed important in comparison to being shorter. His clothes felt rough, like the homespun his mom brought home from South America. There was a wicked-looking knife sheathed on his belt, though.
And he saw that, Vance. He's going to kick Vance's shins at the first opportunity. "I don't know. I've got no idea what's going on, but I am totally keeping this knife. What do you think it is?"

He hadn't noticed that his ears were pointed yet, but he had noticed the bigger, hairier feet. And the way the Sword Unbreakable was camouflaged as a much shorter, leaf-shaped blade, the red of his robes gone to earthier tones, and the fact that there was some other short, pointy-eared, bare-footed guy nearby that Kubo hadn't met before, but felt like he needed to maybe help out or protect or something.
"What kind of story is this?" he asked, looking around at the unfamiliarity of, oh. Everything.
