It's unusual for Junkrat to separate himself from either Blue Falcon or Roadhog, on missions or otherwise - but among them, their skills are best utilized in different places. While the other two are shouldering the weight-lifting, Junkrat has entered the underground tunnels to work his best on the geothermal reactors.
He'd rather be on the surface revelling in the chaos, but...you know. Job. New leaf. All that goodie-two-shoes stuff.
While his experience doesn't include previous knowledge of geothermal reactors, but he's a quick read, and by quick read he's learning quickly by finding what's gone wrong and using whatever's at his disposal to fix it. Is it pretty? No. Is it at all conventional? No. Does it break whatever hazard and health codes that this planet might have? Probably. But does it work? Absolutely.
He barely notices the heat, because he's used to working in conditions like this. What he does notice, after running through a half-dozen repairs, is a pattern. System faults don't happen with such precision, such regularity.
It's not how he would do it. Someone's trying to be subtle.
Junkrat may be hyper-focused on his task, but there's something about this situation that has his survival instincts kicked into high gear. As soon as someone drops a footfall (or analgue of such) near him, he immediately turns around to look at them with the wild expression of an animal ready to kill to protect himself, curved combat blade held underhand and ready to strike.
