THE LEMURIAN ADVENTURE
Who| Open to all!
What| The underwater city of Lemuria is flooding!
Where| Lemuria!
When| The same time as Heist of the Century and just after the beginning of Bodies For Rent
Warnings/Notes| This is a natural disaster, so things might get hinky and intense.
When the Legionnaires drop in, the first thing that hits is the sound. Like the cables of a suspension bridge snapping, but drawn out endlessly rather than ending swiftly. It’s enough to set anyone’s nerves on edge.
Their briefing explained it. The reactors that powered the main shield suffered a disastrous cascade failure, and the engineers who went to fix it have failed to check in. Then, despite this being a tectonically stable region, an earthquake wreaked havoc in the dome. It’s a scientific impossibility, without metahuman or scientific interference. They need to get everyone to the T-Gate stations and connected to the refugee centers, but the population is panicking and there are some riots as the disasters and the public announcement of sabotage raised questions of who’s trustworthy and who’s part of it.
There’s been a request for anyone with technical training or even rescue training to go to the tunnels and rescue the engineers, as well.
Whatever the case, it’s obvious that the city doesn’t have much time. The main field has already collapsed and the secondary shields are screaming in protest under the billions of tons of pressure. With the faint sound of an explosion, they blink out and there’s a hammering noise as the ocean slams into the transpariplates that make up the main city dome. Silence reigns for a second, the faint sound of cracking material obviously a figment of their imaginations… right?
DISASTER THREATS
A. EARTHQUAKES
Somewhere in the city, there’s a seismic generator. It’s not exactly subtle, the surrounding area will slowly turn into a volcano, drawing up earth and venting magma around as it works its magic to wreck the city. The vibrations it causes are strong enough that being close enough will rattle the Legionnaire’s teeth. The Legionnaires have to find it and stop it, or destroy it, before it can do any further, but it’s not unprotected.
And that’s not saying that there’s only one. They might run into a gang of saboteurs setting up another one, just in case the first is settled in. If two get activated in this close a proximity, any other efforts they put forth might as well be for nothing.
B. COLLAPSING BUILDINGS
None of the structures in Lemuria have been built to withstand earthquakes, nor have the people been taught how to handle them. The first quake damaged many buildings, and now they’re threatening to collapse with any further interference. Some already have. It’s up to the Legionnaires to search the rubble for survivors or pull people out of the buildings before something worse happens.
C. FLOODING
The transpariplates of the domes and their connecting tunnels are cracking. Water is pouring in through the cracks, and some of the smaller domes have already seen their smaller buildings submerged. People will be trapped, either in structures or on top of them, and the rapidly rising water level is making an evacuation extremely dangerous. Fortunately, this is one disaster they had something set in store for, with rafts and artificial gills being in ready supply, but the stores have been raided and what should be plenty for all has turned into barely enough for some.
The Legionnaires can focus on sealing the cracks with their powers or a provided sealant, or pulling people out of submerged buildings and vehicles or from the tops of their buildings and to a T-Gate nexus.
D. LOOTING AND PANIC
Never let a matter of life and death get in the way of a good riot. Some citizens have taken it upon themselves to spend their last minutes on a witch hunt, tracking down anyone they suspect of being a saboteur and holding impromptu kangaroo courts. Others have taken the chance to throw chairs through windows and claim whatever they find inside. Yet others have taken to stampeding in the streets, clogging the proper evacuation routes in their rush to get out. And, finally, some ill-meaning citizens have taken the anarchy as an excuse to do whatever they want.
While the first directive of the Legion in this situation is the preservation of life rather than protecting material goods, there’s no reason to let criminals run amuck. Whether it’s calming crowds or slugging looters, there’s something the heroes can do to help the situation.
E. FIRES
A fire in an underwater city. How ironic. But, whether it’s due to rioters or the seismic generators, portions of the city are ablaze. The Legion might choose to ignore putting the blaze out, considering the incoming water will likely extinguish them, but there are still people inside the buildings that need to be rescued.
F. REACTOR REPAIRS
The geothermal reactors that need to be fixed are in underground tunnels, something that at least makes them nice and dry. The heat, however, is another thing entirely, and the trans suits aren’t famous for their air conditioning capabilities. Only one reactor needs to be repaired to power the main field just enough to keep the domes from breaking any further, but they’re complex enough that anyone who isn’t an engineering specialist might end up needing to get instructions from specialists in the Legion World monitor room to fix the damage.
The saboteurs haven’t left, however. They’re too professional for that. Any attempt to repair the reactors will end up attracting the attention of these hired guns and they’ll swiftly move in to assault anyone attempting to undo their hard work.
G. WILD CARD!
You can make up any situation you want if it doesn’t fit the above scenarios, as long as it fits the theme of the event. Wild animals, rogue robots, whatever you like. If you're unsure on something, feel free to ask the mods! Otherwise, you can do just about anything under this.

Ami Mizuno/Sailor Mercury - Flooding
"Keep moving in an orderly manner," she instructed the citizens. She looked around for another Legion member. "I need more sealant over here."
She wasn't about to mention that she was having a hard time keeping the water out with citizens still around.
Re: Ami Mizuno/Sailor Mercury - Flooding
"I've got it," he says, nodding at the young woman there. he's not entirely sure what she's doing, but she must be doing something to keep the water held back. it's significantly drier in here. For now. "How many people left?"
no subject
She didn't seem to be bothered by the water around her at all, in fact, she seemed to be at home in it. Still, she wasn't fond of flooding. "I'm Sailor Mercury."
no subject
He heads for one of the largest holes first. That's probably the one most likely to break away. He starts to inject the sealant and just hopes that it sets before the water pressure gets to it.
"Peter. Or Red-Eye I suppose is what I'm supposed to be going by. But Peter is less of a mouthful."
Sawtooth
It makes the most logical sense to Sawtooth: find the source of the problem and nullify it; otherwise, repairs are an uphill battle at best. Evidently he's not the only Legionnaire to think that way, as at least one of his companions is wearing a gold ring and determination.
The generator isn't exactly difficult to find, given the slow transformation of the surrounding land into an active volcano; the difficult part will be getting around or through the saboteurs guarding the machine. The Legionnaires' only advantage right now is that they'd flown in, and the saboteurs aren't exactly looking up.
Sawtooth comes in close, voice quiet. "Do you want to be the distraction or destroy the machine?" The best plans have two parts, right?
Flooding
Sawtooth has one distinct advantage over most people here, and it's not his Sharkticon-inspired chassis: unlike nearly everyone else, he doesn't need to breathe. Any underwater mobility issues have been solved by his flight ring, which can propel him through water as easily as it can air, and he's been spending time searching submerged buildings and roadways and ferrying whoever he finds to the nearest raft or high rooftop for other Legionnaires to transport to the local T-Gate.
He hits a snag when he finds a young woman trapped by falling debris. Fortunately, she's managed to find artificial gills; unfortunately, the way the debris has fallen, there's no way Sawtooth can move her without risking injuring or killing her. He places a hand on her arm, gently - "Don't worry. I'll be back soon." - and rockets to the surface of the water as fast as his flight ring can propel him, because the bends are not an issue when you don't have a circulatory system to worry about. He's speaking as soon as he breaks the water's surface. "I need assistance! There's someone trapped below and I can't get the leverage to free them by myself!"
Reactor Repairs
Sawtooth is anything but an engineering specialist; what he is is unbothered by the heat, as it's nowhere near the temperature required to cause him damage (and he's fairly certain most organic beings would expire in that temperature range anyway). He's here as support, to help his fellow Legionnaire in any way he can, or to take a crack at it himself in a pinch - with instructions from the experts on Legion World.
He's also on guard - sabotage of this nature is Decepticon tactics, and in his experience, they never leave their handiwork unguarded. It would be foolish to assume the saboteurs here would act differently.
Wild Card
(Have a specific scenario in mind? Hit me up and let's plan!)
Flooding
She didn't hesitate to dive into the water and swim out to where Sawtooth was. She had gotten herself a set of gills as well, since she didn't know if she would be able to create a bubble of air around her head or not.
"Take me to her. I'll see if I can use the water to move the debris. I'm Sailor Mercury," she said, adding a quick introduction to help communication.
no subject
But it hasn't, fortunately for all involved. The woman looks up as they approach and waves to them weakly. The debris around her is precarious, but not poised for a catastrophic house of cards collapse; it simply needs two sets of hands, namely to guarantee that nothing will fall or shift the wrong way and hurt the woman.
Sawtooth looks to Sailor Mercury. "If you can move the debris safely, I can pull her out."
no subject
She held her hands out towards the debris and made a very slow, lifting motion and the debris started to lift. She was careful to take it slow so that the debris didn't break even more. The last thing she wanted to do was hurt someone even more than they might already be.
It didn't take too long for there to be enough room for the woman was able to be pulled free.
Earthquakes
Because seeing her at a glance, a tiny thing missing an arm and next to no armor, people underestimate her. It's easy to rile them up when they think they ought to be able to deal with her quickly, and yet somehow can't.
She glances towards Sawtooth with a confident smile. "Don't worry. We have this. If they come for you, just yell. I'll be able to protect you." And then she's unshouldering her staff and pulling herself up into the air, hovering for a moment before darting forward like some angry bird.
A streak of fire blasts from the end of her staff, towards the back of one of the saboteurs's heads.
no subject
He hurls himself at the machine, the prongs of his trident form shearing through metal plating and sinking in deep. The machine coughs and sparks, and the tremors slow; it's not dead yet, but another good blow or two ought to do it. He just needs a moment to dislodge himself and try again.
no subject
Time to distract. Marjara darts past the foe currently swinging at her, sliding under his arm with nimble grace and drawing up her staff, before landing on the ground and slamming it down hard. Heat roils off of her in a wave, and between the saboteurs and Sawtooth? A wall of flame suddenly rushes to life, licking at the air almost five feet up.
"Don't you go running off! We weren't finished."

Flooding
"On it!" he calls back, parting from his partner at the station with a pat on the back and a muttered encouragement before scooping up his helmet up and donning it quickly. The seal gets a quick double-check, Theta reading his actions and reading back the all clear in the practiced back-and-forth they've rehearsed dozens if not hundreds of times.
"Any hostiles on the way?"

Blue Falcon
Somewhere you might hear a defiant, proud war cry; an invocation of the stronger half of Fareeha's power-set. You might see the flash of blue flames that engulf her body as she's given reflexes and swiftness to grab a falling wall before it pins citizens beneath it, or maybe you're close enough to see the way her Eye of Horus tattoo is now glowing gold as she hauls out rubble to get to survivors; large pieces of stone and mortar tossed aside like a child's building blocks.
Looters and Panic
Her strength only lasts for one hour at a time, with two hours to cool down in between, and that time she uses to find people trying to stay behind, or take advantage of the situation, and very persuasively convince them to leave and live (here persuasive means usually grabbing them by the collar or sleeve or whatever she could reach and throwing them back towards the evacuation routes).
She is using her regular human strength at this point, though, so if anyone chooses to retaliate (or any group of someones) she might need assistance.
Wild Card
A good thing to keep in mind when your power set runs on a timed cycle is keep track of time. Not that Fareeha didn't, but here she's cut it a little too close; helping citizens escape a crumbling building, some debris blocked their path. Before it could be cleared, a larger piece of ceiling broke off and threatened to crush the group. Fareeha steps in to catch it on her shoulders, giving rescuers a chance to clear the debris and pull the survivors out.
But, she's on an unspoken countdown; there are scant minutes left that she can feel her strength waning, counting on someone else to help those trapped.
wild card
"Go on."
His long-suffering voice rumbles not long after. The path deeper into the imploding storefront only became narrower from here. Roadhog wouldn't fit even if he gave enough of a shit to go crawling on his belly over the jagged wreckage, but she will. She will in a heartbeat.
Junkrat being the menace that he was to himself on the job, Roadhog should have been less surprised to find out that only woman who'd chosen to consort with him was more of the same, throwing herself back into the enfolding chaos again and again like she just couldn't get enough.
With a horrific whine, more of the structure breaks free, spilling down from the second floor. As it slams into the top of his burden, Roadhog groans but doesn't flinch.
"Leave 'em if you can't be quick."
no subject
She glances back at him with a scowl at his suggestion to leave anyway, but otherwise immediately throws herself into grabbing and tossing aside the rubble while she still has a little extra strength back.
"We're not leaving anyone behind." Hopefully it'll be a moot point, and she's moving with as much quick efficiency as she can, and while he does look in better shape than she had felt moments ago, she didn't know how long he could continue to hold it aloft.
She didn't knew for herself she had to work quickly to dig through this barrier to get to the people on the other side.

Collapsing Buildings
He's helping with the buildings when he catches sight of another Legion member. At least, he's pretty sure, given the blue flames around her. He flies over, using his powers to stabilize a wall that's threatening to fall on her as she shifts rubble to get survivors out. "Want a hand there, Blue Falcon?"
no subject
She calls back up to him; "I'm going to make my away through the streets, see if I can catch anything on this level. You let me know if you see anything from above?"
Junkrat
It's unusual for Junkrat to separate himself from either Blue Falcon or Roadhog, on missions or otherwise - but among them, their skills are best utilized in different places. While the other two are shouldering the weight-lifting, Junkrat has entered the underground tunnels to work his best on the geothermal reactors.
He'd rather be on the surface revelling in the chaos, but...you know. Job. New leaf. All that goodie-two-shoes stuff.
While his experience doesn't include previous knowledge of geothermal reactors, but he's a quick read, and by quick read he's learning quickly by finding what's gone wrong and using whatever's at his disposal to fix it. Is it pretty? No. Is it at all conventional? No. Does it break whatever hazard and health codes that this planet might have? Probably. But does it work? Absolutely.
He barely notices the heat, because he's used to working in conditions like this. What he does notice, after running through a half-dozen repairs, is a pattern. System faults don't happen with such precision, such regularity.
It's not how he would do it. Someone's trying to be subtle.
Junkrat may be hyper-focused on his task, but there's something about this situation that has his survival instincts kicked into high gear. As soon as someone drops a footfall (or analgue of such) near him, he immediately turns around to look at them with the wild expression of an animal ready to kill to protect himself, curved combat blade held underhand and ready to strike.
Better identify yourself quickly before he strikes!
no subject
She stopped, arms in a defensive stance as he spun around with the blade. "I'm Sailor Mercury. An ally. Here to help with the repairs."
no subject
"Then quit playin' with yer jewelry and come here an' help," he commands. "I need a third hand fer leverage ta get this busted gasket off."
It's a risk to ask her to come closer, but it'll keep her in his sight and he'll be able to tell the difference between any genuine and intentional mistakes that might happen.

Of course he wasn't expecting to be confronted with a very large, rather terrifying blade.
Peter's eyes widen when he sees the blade and he quickly holds up his hands. "I'm friendly. I'd rather not die, only it's terribly painful and this is my good shirt."
no subject
"I'll give ya a tic ta take it off first if ya want," he offers, "but y've already soaked it through with sweat, mate."

What Junkrat sees next is a metal trident flying in of its own volition, knocking the saboteur's knees out from under them and clocking them in the head as they go down. The saboteur collapses in a heap, and the trident hovers; after a moment, the trident transforms into Sawtooth, looking a little harried but none the worse for the wear. "There's more on the way," he says, already turning to keep an eye on the area. "I'll watch your back."
no subject
He watches from a relatively safe distance as things unfold, and--of all the things this could end with--he really wishes it hadn't been a robot. Unless it's a dude in armor, and that's extremely unlikely considering he'd just been in the form of a slender-form weapon.
Junkrat lets out an irritated sigh. It's nice to have backup, and...he supposes he doesn't have the freedom to be picky right now.
"Not bad fer a Jamberoo mascot," he says, returning to his work.
