It's something of a whirlwind tour; each stop begins with a fancy dress evening meet and greet mingle, the following day there's a panel where they talk about their experiences, notable missions, what it means to them to be a Legionnaire and what they bring to the overall battle, and ends with a Question and Answer session where the accumulated crowd and reporters can ask specific things of all or specific Legionnaires. If they feel so inclined, time is made for demonstrations and talents. They break for lunch, then reconvene for two to three hours to autographs pictures and action figures or other wares and sundry people might want their favorite (represented) Legionnaire's signature on.

So far, everything seems to be going along just fine ...

There is a damning lack of surprise on Taylor's face he doesn't attempt to cover. If anyone could survive what happened during the crash? It'd be Carolina. But that doesn't mean she'd be the same coming out of it anymore than the rest of them- but this? Highlights a little guilt and no small amount of relief that she's got- that she's had- Wash around to level her out. "You've managed though, right?"

Things have gotten infinitely more complicated but- she's got backup. She's got a squad (a half decent one at that) and some distance. Perspective.

"I've been better," she admits after a moment. "Wash helped. The sim soldiers - the guys, they helped too and... Epsilon helped."

That's hard to admit, still - the loss of Epsilon is still raw and it smarts, though not the way it smarts with Tucker. But he had helped.

"...I thought Epsilon was-" He gestures vaguely to his head, fingers flicking. "Unstable."

Broken. Insane. Tried to kill himself while in Wash's head, leading to a lifetime of trauma and PTSD on top of what he already earned.

"He was. By all rights too unstable to implant, but of course Blue Team found him and stuck him in a Covenant artifact."

Carolina's incredulousness persists, still to this day. "Apparently he was stable enough after that to project, and I he is - he was with me, for a long time."

Not anymore, and that's still a sore spot.

"That- how does that even work? None of them are AI technicians- you have to get certified to handle alien tech-" Even knowing them doesn't make this seem plausible for York. There's no way it should've worked and yet?

Apparently it did.

"And something came up." Otherwise he'd be here with her, like Theta was for North or Delta was for York."

"I know." Look, they have the purest, dumbest luck. She has sometimes wondered if Caboose just wills things to happen out of pure imagination and she can't figure out any rhyme or reason to it.

"Yeah." The expression on her face is somber. "Hargrove came looking for the pieces of the project after it was shut down. The sim soldiers were chasing him down when they got trapped so - they had to use the Meta's suit that Hargrove was modifying. And Epsilon broke himself down to run it."

"Did-" And that's the big question there, isn't it? Did they win. Was it worth it. Did the rest of them die for something or was it all as fucking pointless as it had been when he'd bailed on the Project. York swallows and leans back against the door, eyes dark, voice low. "...Did they take him down for good?"

"They got him. That son of a bitch wasn't getting away after everything he did."

There was a lot more than just stealing the Meta's suit - tricking Chorus, hiring Locus and Felix, pieces of what had been her broken life held up like a prize in his stupid little room.

He shakes off some of the tension after that. Takes a deep breath, scrubs at his face. Over. IT's over and it's worth it and it's- no it's not worth it but it's over and that'll have to be good enough. "...I'm glad you've got Wash."

Someone to keep her grounded.

"I've got more than Wash, I've got the guys, too."

And that's something she can only admit to York - that those sim troopers are just as important to her as Wash is.

Finally, she takes a deep breath.

"Look - I know we're both gonna need time but I wanted you to know I'm here. If you need it, because we were friends. Maybe still can be."

"...we were before shit started getting complicated." It's- awkward and stilted and he's tentative for once, extending an arm. Offering a hand or a hug or whatever she's willing to take. "But yeah. I'd like that."
