Endgame Part 1 [log] [modplot]

This is it, the day the Legion has been dreading since finding out about the threat of Chronoblivion. Chronoblivion's eyes watch over every world as the massive being starts to consume the Legion's universe - and with it, the multiverse. Metron's throne has guided them towards something that can be used to fight Chronoblivion: The Miracle Machine, a mysterious device passed between the Metrons of different timelines that's capable of granting its bearer a "wish," i.e. the ability, to (very briefly) alter reality. This device is powerful enough to create or destroy universes and therefore is powerful enough to destroy the sentient universe trying to consume all of existence.
Brainiac 5 now knows where to find the Legionnaires that were lost over a year ago - and using one of their powers, he can breach into the Miracle Machine's hiding place so they can use it to defeat Chronoblivion once and for all. But there's a catch: the machine powers up by feeding on the background consciousness of sentient beings and it can't do so if all the sentients nearby are preoccupied with fear and hopelessness as the Catastrophists and Metron's other minions weaken its last defenses.
Now the Legion must bring hope to the galaxy at least one more time to have any chance at all of defeating Chronoblivion and saving all of existence.
Starting prompts are in the comments.
While one group frees the lost Legionnaires and obtains the Miracle Machine; and another faces down the Penitent to stop the stream of otherdimensional monsters entering the UP and Second Galaxy, everyone else has to fight against many disasters across the UP.
With the public terrified and thinking they're facing the end of days, the Legion has to bring hope to the United Planets one more time.
A. THE UNMOLDED ONES Gates to the Concept Multicosms have been left wide open on every world and until Beta Team stops the Penitent, the Legion must keep these terrible monsters from destroying everything and everyone. If choosing this prompt, players may want to note which creatures will be in their prompt and what planet they're on. Players can have their character fight on any world against any or all of these monsters: The Spoken: These are the Penitent’s words made flesh, the Unmolded Ones that bonded most with her and became filled with her love of destruction. They are not people, only slightly resembling people, things with twisted limbs that should not be able to support their weight, with many of the limbs fading in and out of existence so they never have the same number at any given time. In some of their many hands they carry flaming swords in a sick imitation of angels. They don’t usually have heads but sometimes heads with lank greasy hair will form in their center mass, ones that have too many eyes. For a brief moment these heads will look their prey in the eyes as they slash, throttle, or stamp their victims to death. Cutting off limbs only cause more to grow in their place. The only way to kill them is to incinerate them completely or destroy their heads the rare times their heads show. The Dancers: These beings have no hands or feet and sway around gingerly on their half-formed limbs in a way that almost makes it seem as if they’re dancing, gradually wheeling their way towards their targets. Colored glass grows out of their skin like leaves, in the space where their faces should be and along one side of their body. Their skin is covered in crosshatched burns and they always smell faintly of singed hair despite being hairless. When they move, they are accompanied by the sound of molten sand or rock cooling into glass, and their touch causes dangerous and potentially deadly radiation burns. Despite the fact that they kill with a touch, their efforts to grab or embrace others seem to be a sad attempt for comfort they can never truly receive. The only ways to destroy them are total incineration or dousing them in water somehow. For some unknown reason, when touched by water, they shut down and die for good, as if being soothed by it is enough for them to let go. The Once-Befores: Once-Befores are massive hulking creatures that despise all forms of sentient civilization, especially cities, and instinctively try their best to raze it all to the ground. They range wildly in height and can reach a whopping size of 1000 feet tall (the size of a skyscraper). Even the smallest among them usually reaches 50 feet tall. The Once-Befores are extremely destructive, using their massive limbs and claws to destroy buildings. They can each shoot an extremely explosive ray of energy from their mouths; the smaller the Once-Before, the more powerful this beam is, an adaptation that allows the smaller ones to be as destructive as their larger counterparts. The Once-Befores are highly resistant to injury and require a lot of sustained force to damage, but they can be worn down and destroyed with enough effort. While most of their bodies are hard to hurt easily, their eyes and inside their mouths are sensitive spots, that can be hurt with bullets or other weaker munitions. They're also not very smart so they can sometimes be tricked into traps (such as lured into a place where a structure can be dropped on them) or tricked into destroying each other with their mouth blasts. B. EARTH - SCIENCE POLICE HQ The headquarters of the Science Police on Earth are under attack by the Catastrophists hoping to drive the UP into a panic by destroying the police. While the police officers have rallied en masse and are bravely resisting the attack, without backup it's only a matter of time before the Catastrophists manage to tear their way through the thin blue line. Catastrophists spearheading this attack are primarily Daxamites and Carggites. The Daxamites have similar powers to Superman: superstrength, invulnerability, heatvision, X-ray vision, superspeed, flight, and super breath. However, they all also have their species' inherent weakness to lead. Even the microscopic amounts in Earth's atmosphere are enough to make them get sick, leaving them heavily reliant on body suits similar to transuits. These suits are heavily resistant to tearing and cutting and are in fact stronger than the Legionnaires' transuits. They can potentially be breached but they must be weakened by extreme forces of any kind (energy attacks, fire, ice, explosions, etc.) before bullets, blades, or other forces can tear them open. The Carggites are similar in makeup to humans, meaning they can be damaged just like humans. However, their ability to split into three connected selves and reform into one person again can make them difficult targets. They've also been highly trained in combat and their selves' mental links with each other allow them to perform very coordinated attacks. The Science Polices' HQ is very large and being attacked from multiple sides. Legion Liaison Officer Shvaughn Erin is on scene, coordinating different Legionnaire defense groups. Characters can handwave that they got orders on the best places to place themselves in the fight. C. COLU - METAIRE The capitol city of Colu, Metaire, is under attack by Catastrophists that are Coluan themselves, ones that have allowed themselves to be modified into dangerous cyborgs. The psychological impact of seeing cyborgs so soon after the robozombie plague ravaged Colu is causing panic in the streets, with many Coluans fearing an outbreak of a new infection despite the fact there is none. These cyborgs have the same superintelligence as all other Coluans, allow them the ability to analyze situations and implement expert combat tactics very quickly and efficiently. While all of them have been augmented to be stronger, faster, and more durable, and their other cybernetic implants range in ability, allowing such capabilities as: cloaking, energy blasts, and hacking surrounding technology and controlling it - a major problem on a world with such things as automated security drones. That said, while these cyborgs are incredibly powerful, they can be destroyed with hacker/computer virus attacks, EMPS, and heavy amounts of damage, especially damage targeted at their vulnerable biological components. D. SECOND GALAXY - THE WAYHOME The Wayhome, the floating, mobile space station comprised of the ships of many different species, is not without its defenses. The Kwai and the many other species there are willing to die to defend their home and before the death of the Progenitor at the hands of the Legion they survived his genocidal attacks constantly. Guided by the Enkemet, the wise Kwai leader in charge of the Wayhome, and led by the Lonestars, the greatest Kwai warriors, the defense forces aren't giving up without a fight. But they still need help and now that the Wayhome is part of the United Planets, they're asking their new allies to aid them in defending the Wayhome. The unfortunate part? The attack is coming through the bilge decks and sewage systems as the Catastrophists swarm in like rats. Their end goal? Getting to the engines of the ship-cluster through the various ducts and passageways and overloading them so the entire Wayhome is destroyed. Kwai warriors have a handle on defending the surface, but the Legionnaires defending and clearing the bilge decks before the Catastrophists can get to vital systems are some serious nass now. Like...literally. The Catastrophists swarming through the bilge decks are no joke. Dangerous shapeshifting Durlan Catastrophists have undertaken this task. Able to transform into anything and anyone, Legionnaires must be careful to keep their allies in sight. If a Durlan is masquerading as a teammate the only way to tell they're not the real thing is by checking one's omnicom to see if their ring tracker shows on screen. Capable of turning into dangerous creatures, or shapeshifting parts of their bodies into bladed weapons and bludgeons, and highly resistant to physical attacks, the Durlans can nevertheless be defeated with enough damage from energy attacks and high voltage electricity. Legionnaires have also been given grenades full of cancellite, a chemical that can freeze the Durlan in the current shape its in and make it unable to move. E. BRAAL - LITTLE XANTHU On Braal, the Xanthan refugee camp has been making a slow transformation into a functioning part of Reelu City, with Xanthan stores, restaurants, shops, apartments slowly being built. But the Catastrophists have set out to destroy this growing refuge of the Xanthans, terrorizing a people that have already suffered terribly when their planet was destroyed by the mind-controlled Roboticans before the Roboticans got freed and joined the UP. Now Catastrophists - native Braalians - have started attacking this area of Braal, using their native magnetic powers to use Braal's metal-rich environment to their advantage. They're even terrorizing the Xanthans by forming metal into robot-like forms that remind them of the Robotican horror they once faced. While Scipos and other native Braalians are pouring in to stand up to these aggressors, they can't defend defenseless Xanthans - who lack powers - all on their own. Fortunately, other than the metal powers, the Braalians are as easy to hurt as humans, but Legionnaires must still brave metal golems, metal being formed into barriers and walls around them, and storms of blades to protect a people that have already lost everything. F. TITAN - TITANOPOLIS Chaos has descended on Titan, the planet of the telepaths. Styled after Granny Goodness' Female Furies, warrior Talokian Catastrophists are attacking Titanopolis, the capitol of Titan, home to the main Titanet tower that is vital to all other towers. Destroying it could cut off communications through the entire beleaguered UP, destroying any chance of calming down a terrified populace. The Talokians themselves are dangerous enough, highly trained in both bladed weapons and guns, extremely fast and resistant to injury, but even more terrible are the otherworldly Hounds they've trained to be obedient to them. These clawed and sharp-toothed ethereal creatures are even more durable, and have a devastating effect on any psionic beings. As they wind their way through the streets with their owners, their psionic abilities are causing any telepaths they come across to collapse and go catatonic, leaving the Titanians completely unable to defend themselves. Due to all Titanians communicating via telepathy, instead of hearing their cries for help with their ears, your character's mind will be filled to the brim with the Titanians' mental screams - as they eerily drop off and go silence. The Legionnaires must stop these beasts and their owners before they make their way through the winding city streets from the threshold gate hub to the Titanet Tower itself. Fortunately the terrain leaves things somewhat in their favor. The Venice-like waterways made of pure methane can sometimes be used to set enemies on fire or blow them up and with so many winding mazelike streets, there are plenty of places to set up an ambush. G. WILD CARD Have an idea for something that you don't see an option for? Go absolutely crazy. The Catastrophists recruit from almost every UP member world, meaning they have individuals with a wide array of powers at their disposal. (The only exception is the Roboticans, who aren't prone to existential despair.) They're also attacking every UP world, meaning you can set a conflict of any nature on any planet in the UP. If you'd like to see if something is possible, free free to ask the mods in the OOC post. |
All Legionnaires that prefer it will be kitted with both lethal and nonlethal weaponry and ammo. Due to the giant monsters, players can also god some Legionnaires as having been given heavy artillery or fusion devices (the latter of which come from Brainiac 5's stock of rejected experiments).
The Legion's usual rules towards killing apply, and the situation in the UP is dire enough that in many situations it will be considered justified, especially against the monsters. That said, the entire UP is watching, and how it all looks to them must be taken into account. Even those that kill have to make sure its done in a way that doesn't absolutely horrify the UP public or it'll be counterproductive to bringing them hope.
ALPHA TEAM [closed to Wash, Danny, and Locus] [keep it to one single thread]
Still, they need more firepower, so several displacee Legionnaires have been tasked to come along. Wash, Danny, and Locus have been brought along with Kid Quantum, Brainiac 5, Bouncing Boy, Ferro, Gates, Umbra, Timber Wolf, Dreamer, Invisible Kid, Cosmic Boy, and Matter-Eater Lad.
Their destination? Where it all began: Phelolu.
It's easy to forget that Phelolu once held civilized life. Before the fight with Mon-starr, the living star, the Legion was able to successfully evac the planet, but the wreckage of some of the cities remains, as they slowly degrade and turn to dust in Phelolu's endless dark and cold.
Despite the extensive destruction, the only causalities they faced were the lost Legionnaires that disappeared due to the sabotage of Brainy's device by a Bill-Cipher-possessed Invisible Kid. But the skeletons of buildings long destroyed are still eerie enough, especially when the only light is from glowing, floating blobs of energy Kid Q has used to light the area, and from the dull light of radiation in Phelolu's atmosphere.
The only reason they can withstand the elemental forces in play are because of special prototype transuits reinforced with technology that imitates Brainiac 5's own shield technology, but they only have about an hour of time before the special transuits break down in the face of Phelolu's toxic gases, bitter cold, radiation, and other dangerous energies.
Fortunately, Brainy knows how to work fast, and as he sets up his equipment, Legionnaires have been poised in different places on watch.
"Locus, Freelancer, Ghost Boy, I've got several other Legionnaires posted on watch around our perimeter, but I want you to stay as hidden as possible. If we do get ambushed, I want to throw our attackers a few surprises. And while our enemy has had some time to study your powers and fighting styles, they've had a lot longer to study those of us from this world. You've got a much better chance of throwing them something they're not expecting."

The black and sage armor might stand out on Legion World, but it fades into the rubble surprisingly well. There's no need to turn invisible quite yet.
"North side clear. No sign of hostiles."
no subject
Having the ability to get a second, longer look at the place does exactly nothing to mitigate that first impression. Phelolu is a death planet.
And yet they're here to bring some life back into the Legion and the fight against Chronoblivion. There's something weirdly poetic about that, though Wash doesn't have any spare time or thought to devote to it. He's found a half-wrecked building within the perimeter and settled into its shadows. He kills the lights on his armor, makes sure that there's no light source to reflect off of him, and does his best to think of this like a normal mission, even though it's anything but. "Yes, ma'am."
After a moment's consideration, he opens a private channel to Danny. There's the impulse to ask if he's doing okay - the kid's had a hell of a week, after all - but he bites it back. Danny wouldn't have come if he didn't think he was capable. It'll be fine. "Hey," he says instead, "do you think you can overshadow whatever inevitably shows up to crash the party?"
no subject
Probably Clockwork's fault. Yeah, that sounds legit.
"Already planned on it." He smirked, before his entire body disappeared from sight. Turning both invisible and intangible, as he sank beneath the ground, waiting for the inevitable ambush.
more npc stuff. I'll give a cue when to go.
It'd mysteriously closed as soon as Chronoblivion's eyes started forcing their way into the universe but it opens once more, and Brainy's devices start chugging and whining and sounding for all the world that they're at risk of exploding. He's using data from the throne and dimensional mapping by Merl and Valeria, design elements offered by other technically-savvy Legionnaires, and every bit of the work he's put into the last two years, trying to bring his friends home - trying to find a way to send the displacees to their homes for the last year, too.
And it's working. He's lit up by the glow of energy from outside the world, as the rift starts to open up to him and reveal its secrets. The same sphere he rigged together in the lab whirs again. It's larger now, burns even brighter, leaving glowing afterimages on the retinas of anyone that makes the mistake of looking directly at it.
The window to another world opens again and there are shapes beyond it, silhouetted in the light. They're waiting, ready to deploy like they were asked, even now, even exhausted. They're ready to jump into action the second they're home, because they're the Legion and that's what they do.
Their faces become clearer and the device lets out chiming, impossible noises that resonate at the subharmonics required to break through the crystal dimension's walls. The air vibrates enough to make the images of the lost Legionnaires tremble and then... and then...
With crashing and tinkling sounds, the wall explodes in a wave of something that only looks like broken glass. Brainy temporarily shields the team from it but once it dissolves, once the doorway is open, he drops the shield and the figures inside come pouring through in a wave of bodies. The crest of the wave knocks Brainy to the ground in a tumble of arms that refuse to let go of him and the rest follows after, spilling out into the arms of the other Legionnaires there. Up in their hiding places, the native Legionnaires that have also been posted as guards rock in place slightly, barely resisting the urge to leave their watchplaces to go join in the joyful throng of hugging teammates.
The laughter and tears flow freely, and in some cases, so do the kisses. Dreamer is pulled into the embrace of Star Boy, the one Brainy had singled out as needing to create a micro black hole and kissed tenderly. Timber Wolf can be seen embracing a black-haired woman in white and black and kissing her passionately, and then doing the same to a burly brunette man in red and green. The three of them cling to each other in a tangle of limbs, as he buries his head against the woman's shoulder.
"It's okay, Brin, we're here now," says the woman.
no subject
"Welcome home, Legionnaires," she says, as she too gets swamped by the arms of lost friends. "I know all everyone wants to do right now is celebrate and catch up, but we've still got work to do."
There's just enough of a commanding tone in her voice that they all look up and listen.
Brainy shuts down one of the devices and the crystal dimension disappears. The rift still shifts and morphs in the air above them. He starts turning other devices on. His game face is back on, even though his face still hasn't dried from his tears.
"Brainy's going to tell us what to do."
no subject
The encouragement, though grouchy, seems to help and Star Boy looks less nervous as he gets ready. He looks even less nervous when Dreamer wraps her arms around him from behind.
Just like that, despite their two years apart, the team gets back to work, and they fall into place like clockwork. The lost Legionnaires start to spread out in watch patterns to keep an eye on the area. Whatever Brainy's doing to get his hands on the Miracle Machine seems complicated - he has to instruct multiple Legionnaires on ways he needs them to use their powers.
But whatever that is -- it starts working too. More devices starting whirring and shining alarming lights. The rift in the air above them morphs and changes as Brainy starts to control it again, floating it down right in front of them and condensing into an orb. It all seems stable at first, perfectly fine, all the way up until Star Boy starts forming the micro black hole. It's just a black dot at the center of the thing, held in place and prevented from expanding larger by extreme effort and concentration. To protect Star Boy and the devices and the black hole, Brainy has extended his shield around the devices and around a good chunk of the team.
no subject
So it comes as a complete shock to all when a blast of energy arcs in from from absolutely nowhere and passes right through Brainy's shield, hitting one of the devices. Everything in a area 100 feet in diameter freezes in place - black hole, rotating orb, Legionnaires that are in close, Legionnaires that were hanging back and keeping watch. They're all completely frozen in place, due to the time dilation of the black hole falling out of their control.
Except they're not. They're still moving, realizing they've been attacked in ultra slow motion, slowly reacting. Star Boy struggles with his powers, Brainy moves his hand to repair the device, but what would usually take seconds will take minutes, and what will take minutes could take a half hour.
The only ones that are free of the freezing effect are Wash, Locus, and Danny, who were just outside its perimeter, and were stealthy enough to not initially have been seen.
Them and Kid Q, apparently. She suddenly glows orange inside the time dilation field and flies out of it, stumbling as she reaches the area outside, her quantum powers instinctually re-syncing her with the rest of the universe. She's the only one that had the power to break free.
She wisely doesn't call out to three hidden Legionnaires - yet - and that hesitation pays off. She sees a glint of white and black in the air above and blasts at it, her powers increasing its gravity so it falls and then explosively launching it into the city ruins where Danny, Wash, and Locus are hidden, away from the group of Legionnaires locked in slow motion. Now Kid Q stands between the attacker and the others, and the attacker is right in the sights of Legionnaires the attacker can't see.
She knows what that flash of black and white means, of course - a Herald - but as she steps forward and sees the Herald claw itself out of the rubble, standing to face her, her jaw drops.
"What... what..." she breathes out.
no subject
"I'm surprised you didn't figure it out already." The voice is a familiar one and it's...sad? "I almost wanted you to. Or I would've if I'd been allowed to feel it."
White energy erupts, wreathing the figure in floating globules of light, as its power warps the very matter around it. Matter dissolves into molecules, into errant atoms, into minute quarks. Metal warps and rusts to dust aging a thousand years in a day. Concrete reverts back in time to before it was mixed, back to its base components.
"I wish that I could've wanted you to win. I wanted to want to. You can understand that, right? You can understand, probably better than anyone."
annnd go!
"You came so close, closer than I did." Her Legion will die right at the finish line, nearly succeeding. Not pitifully, miserably, screaming and begging while getting unmade by Chronoblivion's hands, after they watched their world torn to shreds. "You can at least take comfort in that"
no subject
His body phased into existence right between them, not even inches away from the evil Kid Q. However, he was still very much intangible, giving him that translucent look. He was floating right up to her face, the biggest and smuggest smirk plastered all over her face. Danny almost taking a moment to delight in his entrance, before he got right to work.
After all, he didn't need to think too hard about what was happening. Evil version of Kid Q was pretty easy to grasp.
"Boo." He muttered, before diving right into the herald's chest. Her body glowing green for a moment, before her eyes lit up with that same green glow, the smug grin that was on Danny's face earlier mirrored on Judgement's face, if only for a moment.
"What's the matter? Y̵͍̠͖͖̗̬o̞̹̳̦̝u̩̜ ̜̭͇̯͕l̼o̲͓̦̹̟ok̞̼̳ ̞͓̣̪͍l̩͖̯i̖̣̠͜k̲͈̀ͅe͙̩͔ ̞͇͔͘y̥͓̯̖̱͎ͅo̢͓̲̫̙̦̮̳u͎͇̣͚͙͔͡'͔̕v̭ḛ̜̠̦̖͚ ͚͓̭̗̪̪̻͜s̙̯e̬̖̩̠͈͜èn̼̼͔̺͙̘̰ ̢̹͎̹̝a͈̹̙̱̘͉ͅ ̭̟̙̰͕̥͢gh̺ó̤̤̘̯̝̜̝s̥̪t̥̤̩."
no subject
Breathe. Line up the shot. He sees the smirk, the green glow--
And he takes a shot directly at the negative image's temple. He's grown reserved about taking life with the Legion, but he doubts a Herald will be put down so easily.
They'll need to take advantage of this surprise. Moments later, he fades from view entirely and takes to the air.
no subject
Well. Time to get to work.
For the moment, he stays where he is, still in hiding. Judgment doesn't seem to have noticed him yet, and that'll be to his advantage if he has to get close and nuke her powers. He mutes his external mic and opens a private channel to the only Legionnaires left standing. "Locus, bank your shots if you can - we don't want her tracking your trajectory. Danny, keep her there as long as you can and warn us if you have to let go. Whatever happens, don't let her get off another shot!"
no subject
Then she turns back in time to see the Herald already recovering from the head shot, fighting viciously against Danny's control, and starts fighting like a demon, blasting at her with shots of glowing orange energy that warp the air around her and strip off layers of skin.
"I think I'll gain comfort in kicking your ass instead," says Jazmin, blasting at the Herald. "It all makes sense now, how the Heralds kept staying one step ahead. But here's the thing: you Heralds don't change. You can't. Chronoblivion locked you all in the same state. But the Legion? We learned."
Hence the trap.
She hurls another blast at the other Jazmin that causes to her skid backwards against the ground, her feet digging in.
"There's a reason I chose Danny to keep watch, for instance. Without him in the Murderworld footage, and with your spy, Bill Cipher gone, you have no idea what he can do."
And Judgement doesn't even know Wash is there yet.
no subject
Quantum energy shoots out in random booms, burning holes through the wreckage around them. Fortunately, it's not the same as an actually focused blast, but she's still resisting possession and using her powers without even moving.
"You have no idea what I can do, Jazmin. Because you don't even know what you can do. We were always too afraid of our own power. But Chronoblivion took that fear away for me."
no subject
The thing was, most people weren't prepared for it. So the longer he overshadowed them, the harder it got. The surprise was half the work, especially if they knew it was happening.
Which is where Danny's next dumb idea kicked in.
"Oh shut up already." He bantered, slipping out of her body. But only for a second, before diving right back in. The new plan: overshadow her over and over, don't give her the chance to get used to it. His voice now coming from her mouth, as he continued. "You're not even the first 'evil future self' I've fought, lady."
no subject
"What do I have to fear?" She asks through gritted teeth as she tries to shoot down more wild blasts before they do damage to anything that can't take it. "It's only the end of the world as we know it. I feel FINE!"
no subject
Somebody is pressing X to skip the speech at the boss level, aren't they, Danny.
When she can't get any words out, she just starts...laughing? It isn't "hahaha, I'm hiding some big evil secret" laughter, either. It's not "you pathetic fool" laughter, or deranged laughter or maniacal laughter.
There is a Jazmin Cullen in there, and alongside the part of her that wants to destroy them, there's a part of her that wants to get beaten. Alongside the part of her that wants to end all life, there's a part of her that wants to save all of it.
And alongside the endless fount of rage, there's someone that thinks it's fucking hilarious that he's ruining her evil monologue. She gets out at least one word in between possessions:
"Smartass."
But one of the times he hops out, she's able to regrow part of a building and then make it degrade again, in the space of a heartbeat, collapsing it on Kid Q. The bubble of orange light under the rubble makes it clear she survived it, but it's a lot of building to burn through.
They need to hit fast and hard before Judgment can take advantage of not having any quantum power to conflict with her own.
no subject
Now that was enough to stop Danny in his tracks. The half-ghost freezing in place for a moment, as he watched the building fall on her. It was all going at normal speed, but it might as well have been going in slow motion, for all the good he did reacting to it.
And right there and then, he suddenly wasn't so sure what to do.
"Oh man..." He muttered, his voice still coming out of her mouth. The kid still wearing Judgement like a meat suit, although he wasn't doing the possession dance anymore. Soon enough, she would've probably had enough leeway to kick him out, if he didn't start paying attention.
Thankfully, he wasn't alone.
"DO THE THING!" He yelled out, before turning Judgement's body intangible. Sinking down to the ground, before flying out of her, leaving her stuck there. He had no idea if that would keep her there for long, or end up doing nothing. Heck, he had no idea if that would mess up her organs, or what. But he had to make sure Kid Q was okay.
He had to.
So he flew, as fast as he could. Diving into the rubble, leaving Judgement unattended. Hopefully, Locus and Wash could handle it.
no subject
Wash is less worried about Kid Q than Danny is; he's been in a lot of combat and seen people with fewer (or zero) superpowers survive worse situations than that. He has every confidence that Kid Q will be fine; that said, they don't have the time to waste to confirm it.
"Danny, move!" he says (external speakers still muted, because stealth mode is a thing) at about the same time Danny yells, flying out of cover as fast as his flight ring will carry him. The way Danny had left her, Judgment is facing away from him; hopefully that'll buy him time enough to nuke her powers before she knows he's there. He makes it within range of Judgment and sets off his power nuke. He doesn't even have time to finish yelling, "Take the shot!" before a bullet enters her brain, courtesy of Locus.
"Two minutes," he says, because he's still got a damned time limit. "Make them count." He then turns, brings his rifle to bear, and puts a few more shots into her for good measure.
no subject
"I'm fine!" she says when she sees Danny. "Get back out there and stop her, that's more important right now!"
