Out With the Old [modplot]
Who| Everyone who signed up
What| The rescue of the NPC Legionnaires
Where| A movie studio in New New York
When| Takes place the same time as "Books of Magic"
Warnings/Notes| N/a
The studio where the Legionnaires are being held is swarming with supervillains. It's a trap, of course. But that doesn't mean they have to walk right into it. They have a plan, and now it's time to put it into action.
The Legion of Supervillains are expecting the non-native Legionnaires to be pushovers. They're about to discover just how crushingly, devastatingly wrong they are.

THE SHREDDER SHREDS YOU (open!)
His good eye locks with the eyes of everyone he passes, and if someone is so foolish to stand in his way he simply narrows his gaze and they scurry over to the side. He has no time for those who can't stand up to him and if there's any honor in him, it's there. Those who don't think they'll be a challenge, he will not challenge.
He's on patrol, that much is obvious. And when a hero happens to appear in his view, he doesn't stay long in their own. For a guy so huge and burned, he's amazingly swift. Perhaps they won't know that anyone is behind them until they hear the sharp sound of extending metal claws and a voice in the shadows.
"I was told I would be facing superheroes, the kind that children read in comics...But all I have seen so far is the children."
((OOC: All-purpose fight thread for any individuals or group that wants to face him! He'll be trying to stop any hero he sees, so feel free to have your character fight him wherever you like!))

...More than a little.
Still. Holding onto that anger isn't healthy. And while he could, and did, let it out in short bursts against the mooks he'd been up against so far, Jason didn't necessarily like going into a fight angry. Mistakes like, apparently, walking right past a guy in the shadows. At the sound of the Shredder's voice, he whirled, glancing around for... whoever that might be. Unfortunately, it was the other guy who got the ninja training. Jason would have to settle for something more mundane.
"Who's there?" His hand dips into a pouch at his side, coming out with a small flashlight. He clicks it on, sweeping the light in an arc close to the Shredder. "I'd call 'hide and seek' a children's game, wouldn't you?"

Jason should hear some footsteps behind him.
"And you deserve to know the man who's hand will bring about your fall. I am The Shredder, head of the Foot Clan." Sending untested youths against a master assassin is exactly the same philosophy as his old nemesis Hamato Yoshi. Hypocrisy seems to run rampant in those who present themselves as good men.
He appears out of the shadows, blades unsheathed. No time for philosophy now.
"Prepare yourself, boy. I will leave your body as intact as possible."

The guy was huge. Armor. And blades. Lots of blades. "I see where you get your name." While he was initially taken aback by the size difference, Jason had fought bigger. All he's got in terms of protection is his costume, the jacket, Hiccup's retractable sword, and a blaster. He goes for neither of the weapons, nor does he activate his powers. This guy was big, but he looked to be only human. There were rules, even if the Legion didn't follow them.
Turnabout deserves fair play. And it's been a long time since he's actually fought another martial artist. He bows, as if at a competition meet. "My name's Jason Lee Scott." From there, Jason slid into a more defensive stance. Leaning back on the rear foot, front leg almost straight, one hand open and near his face, the other in a fist and swept down. Kenpo karate, undoubtedly something Shredder would recognize. And...
Well. His identity would be blown as soon as Goldar finally found him. Might as well continue the introduction. "Leader of the Power Rangers. C'mon." No time for words now. The fight was on.

And Shredder returns it, and retracts his blades. This is no time for mercy, but at least this boy would be more engaging than many.
"I'll remember it," he says, and perhaps he means it.
The stance is standard Kenpo, and Shredder recognizes it immediately. More basic than he hoped for, but perhaps there will still be surprises. He bolts forward and and grabs for Jason's shoulder while aiming a punch to his trunk. It should be child's play to secure him with a hold.

Jason learns two very important things in the next few seconds. One, this guy is fast. Almost blindingly so. And second, to be that fast while wearing that much metal, he's got to be strong.
He weaves back in a dodge. Kenpo's not about blocking, not like some of his other styles. More about evasion, which, if he'd been dealing with those blades still, would've been more important. Now, though, he's just got to deal with the Shredder's bare hands. Unfortunately, he's taken off guard by the raw speed his opponent is showing, his shoulder escapes his grasp but the Shredder's fingers close in on the damned shoulder straps on his jacket. It halts his attempts at a dodge pretty effectively and the best he can do is take the punch. Breath escapes him in a grunt and there's no good way out.
The best he can do now is move in closer, shifting his weight forward and slamming a palm strike towards the Shredder's chin. It's not a good way to go for things, not with their height difference and that mask, but his other options were to shove Shredder back, try to take him to the ground, or move in for a flip. All of which don't feel like good ideas.

The palm strike is the act of someone with no better option, but it's not necessarily ineffective. Shredder suspects it hurts Jason more than it hurts him but the important thing is to keep the bottom of the mask from hitting his throat, and he turns his head to the side so that the strike can bounce against his chin. He feels the padding under the metal shift and a bruise that he only notices in passing start to form.
He aims his next strike towards Jason's solar plexus, with such force that it should send him across the room. Assuming it doesn't break his ribs.
no subject
He'd joke about it, but he's too busy catching his breath. Nothing feels broken, and he's definitely taken a kick the wrong way, but... Man. The Shredder was on a totally different level.
He straightens, trying to put on a tougher front, and shakes some of the sting out of his hand. No way around it, he'd have to use his powers to amp himself up. No one else is in range, so it's not going to do him a lot of good, but it would help him just a tad. Sticking to what works on people won't work, not against a dude like this. He's just going to have to treat him like one of Rita's monsters.
With that thought in mind, he abandons the picture perfect stance and goes on the offense, charging the Shredder. After a few steps, he pushes off and twists in mid-air, crying out as he aims a flying back kick at the Shredder's chest, thrusting his foot out. If he can knock the guy over, then maybe he could claim the advantage. Of course, this wasn't the subtlest attack he could choose...
no subject
Certainly he'll last an impressive amount of time for his age, but he won't make it out alive.
The Shredder suspects he has something else planned, considering that he is not fleeing and seems to be willing to experiment. He reacts to the charge by adopting a defensive stance, and when he reacts to the kick, it's by twisting his body to take the kick with his folded arms. He has to adjust his stance to account for the force. It's more like a cannonball shot to an armored tank. The force is strong but the hull is stronger.
And then, quickly, Shredder grabs for his ankle. If Jason doesn't move fast enough, he'll risk being swung aside like a ragdoll.

To fight and win.
She is not intimidated, and instead continues to start this person down.
"Are you just going to keep talking?"
no subject
Still, if this is how she wishes to die, he will honor it.
"No."
He motions for her to bring it on. This will involve feeling out her skill level and attack style.

A straightforward charge, with both energy swords following close by. Enough within range, she swings down her left arm, causing the left sword to mirror the action, swinging down and slamming into the ground.
no subject
He sidesteps the sword in the ground, charging towards her. He braces his claws to catch her next sword-strike and see how possible it is to break whatever passes for steel in the blades.
