The planet Olum is a genuinely welcoming place. While the clothes they have to wear for the rituals are a bit...odd (provided they don't opt for coverups), they are comfortable, especially with such a balmy climate. Despite the Olumites allowing outsiders into their ceremonies, there's a distinct lack of tourist-ey elements; no gift shops, no merchants selling anything, just a spirit of genuine unity and celebration. The Olumite marriage guides seem to genuinely care about helping people with their relationships, and seem happy to share their cultural traditions with other species.

As far as missions go, it's definitely a nice vacation from the usual life or death struggles.

It means the Legionnaires have no distractions. They have to settle in and try to navigate this while faking sincerity as best as they can.

2B comes to dislike the idea of not doing anything productive with her time. Despite being at a point where she's not needed to further her task, she still feels as though she needs to be doing something. So to occupy herself, 2B makes her way to one of the glades and begins to practice her hand-to-hand combat. Hands and feet striking through the air before she begins to unload them on one of the tree trunks.

Despite the impact and force she's using, 2B doesn't miss a beat or show any real signs of wear and tear.

It's more primitive than she'd like, but it does what it's supposed to.

She only really stops when she notices someone approaching, looking in their direction.

Fareeha is still fairly alert and it's not long before she notices someone new working intensely on a tree. She watches quietly for a while, impressed with the seamless and continued volley of hits. Eventually she rouses herself and walks over. giving a little wave when the other woman looks at her.

"Hello. I couldn't help but admire your form."

2B appraises the visitor before speaking to them. "It's nothing special. I just wanted to stay busy." She's not sure if she can really get used to this. Having a living, breathing human standing right in front of them. And there's the part where they seem to be having a conversation.

"You're familiar with hand-to-hand combat?"

"I am. I started training at an early age. It's good for downtime like this."

Meaning she's been doing her own attempts to stay busy as well. "Trees, though ... don't offer much of a challenge."

[grumpylady]

"It can handle the punishment, and that's all I need it to do." Hadn't really budged at all with how big it was. "There's much else for to practice on, and I'd rather keep myself busy rather than be left with nothing to do."

"That it can." Fareeha assesses the tree. "You're not the only one; I've been having to find creative ways to keep myself from going crazy, and I don't think we're alone."

"Soldiers without a battle to fight in." Who knew that a moment of peace would be so difficult to adjust to.

"We know how to navigate life or death situations better than a trip to the beach.”

Fareeha chuckles, "I don't know about you, but no one trained me for a trip to the beach." She looks back at the stretch of sand and water, dotted with chairs and umbrellas and people. "Of course, there's a lot less at stake here. If we fail. we might get a sunburn, but no one dies."

2B sort of stares at her for a moment before saying, "I don't know what a sunburn is." What she knew of humanity had been limited to what recorded data remained, or findings that 9S and the Pods would've shared with her.

Fareeha frowns slightly, a little cofused, but then people here came from all walks of life, ad she did look a little pale; maybe the sun wasn't as much of an issue on her planet?

"If you stay out in the sun without protection, it can damage the skin. Most times it's just a few days of irritation."

2B was hearing the words clearly, but she was still having difficulty comprehending what she'd just been told. It sounded like a far greater concern than this one was letting on.

"I wasn't aware that humans could be so fragile." To the point where exposure to the sun could harm them like that.

Silence settles on the conversation for a moment while Fareeha lets those words sink in.

"Oh, you're ... not human? I'm sorry, I hadn't realized." It made sense now that she'd have no idea what Fareeha was talking about."Yes, we can be pretty susceptible to climate extremes, for one."

[grumpylady]

"Apologies aren't really needed. I was simply making an observation." Humans were truly flawed creatures if they were as sensitive to temperatures as she was learning.

"My name is 2B."

"Fareeha Amari." She holds out her hand in greeting. "May I ask, who are you here with?"

Because this isn't exactly a place you'd come alone.

"I'm here with Miku and Tadashi." She grabbed Fareeha's hand, shaking it.

"What about you?"

Wow, that's quite a grip.

"Jamison Fawkes. We've been doing alright so far. What's it like with two partners?"

[grumpylady]

It comes when you're made out of parts and circuitry instead of flesh and bones.

"No issues on my end." She answers rather plainly.

"I'm glad to hear it. I don't mean to jinx anything but it feels so far like this is going to be a fairly straightforward mission."

[grumpylady]

"For now." 2B responded. "The mission always has time to change. Which is why I'm looking to stay sharp."

[justice_from_above]

"It's a good habit." Fareeha nods in agreement. "I admit, maintaining my routine has been a welcome distraction from the relative inactivity so far."

[grumpylady]

"Your routine. And what exactly is in that routine." Call it curiosity, or just call it a way to keep making use of her time.
