The planet Olum is a genuinely welcoming place. While the clothes they have to wear for the rituals are a bit...odd (provided they don't opt for coverups), they are comfortable, especially with such a balmy climate. Despite the Olumites allowing outsiders into their ceremonies, there's a distinct lack of tourist-ey elements; no gift shops, no merchants selling anything, just a spirit of genuine unity and celebration. The Olumite marriage guides seem to genuinely care about helping people with their relationships, and seem happy to share their cultural traditions with other species.

As far as missions go, it's definitely a nice vacation from the usual life or death struggles.

It means the Legionnaires have no distractions. They have to settle in and try to navigate this while faking sincerity as best as they can.

Hopefully he will end up being a decent person. Genji will not judge one way or another until the time comes to prove one's allegiance.

"A Miss Elphelt. She is a somewhat unique person, if you have not already gathered that."

"I think we're all unique here, one way or another." It's why they were summoned by Legion in the first place, wasn't it? They all had something to offer? "Definitely a different kind of mission than the one's I'm used to undertaking at home."

"Yes, but I should say this situation is unique to her. Miss Elphelt has an infatuation with being married."

He was going to leave it like that, considering the current mission. It wasn't that he was in a tight spot, as he wasn't a bumbling idiot so he could make his stance clear a while ago. Still, it added some irony to things.

"I can also say this is a mission that Overwatch never undertook either."

"Somehow I get the impression the majority of us involved in this mission haven't ever had anything quite like it." Overwatch didn't, Helix didn't, and she's running into a fair few people who aren't entirely sure what to do with themselves either.

"But I'm sure things will get better once we finish the rituals and start hunting down the artifacts."

"We shall see."

Before he returned to his inner studies, he let things off with one last statement.

"If you need any assistance, please let me know. I owe enough to your family that it would take many lifetimes to cover so do not think you are imposing."

There's a little flicker in her smile at the mention of her family; there's still some soreness regarding her mother, and she's been out of the Overwatch loop for a while.

"I'm not sure if I quite qualify, but I appreciate the sentiment." She pauses for a moment, "Have you talked to Jack? He's here."

"I have spoken with the Commander, yes."

Genji, as always, was going to refer to him by rank. Regardless, he had spoken with the man and had let him know that he was ready to work with him as needed.

"It was a surprise knowing he was alive but a good one."

"I wasn't expecting it either, but it's good to have him back."

She wonders if she should tell him about her mother, briefly, but then decides against it; she wasn't ready to casually discuss that topic quite yet. "Have you seen much of the resort, yet?"

If Genji had an inkling of the topic, he wouldn't push for a conversation about Ana either way. Better for her to keep things to herself until she was ready to speak of them.

"I have not. Is there something you wished to point out?"

"Nothing in particular, but I thought maybe we could explore some of it together." It's her way of trying to get to know him a little better, and in her continuing attempt to open herself up to people. "If you're up to it; I wouldn't want to further interrupt your meditation."

[touchmydragon]

"No, I can take a break. I start for convenience so I can cease for that too."

He smoothly goes from sitting to standing with the grace that comes from machine parts before turning and nodding. At least with this holo-disguise, she can actually see the small smile on his face. He needs to get out and socialize too.

"Where shall we start?"

"We could take a floatypuff ride?" Admittedly she hadn't thought much farther than inviting him, but the airborne tour is something she'd been wanting to try, and it's just a little ways up the beach from where they're at currently.

He looks over where they are and then nods in agreement. They don't look too dangerous, at least. Aside from a fall.

"That is reasonable enough. At the very least, we will get a good view."

You're talking to someone who's spent a fair deal of time up in the air; she's looking at that height with a grin. It's not the same at all as the freedom afforded to her from the jump-jets, but it'd still be nice to be above everything else for a little bit.

"Indeed." She starts on down the beach towards the floatypuff stables. "A chance to get the lay of the land, see where all of the food carts are located."

"Food is on your mind, I see."

It was light teasing, even if food wasn't exactly his main interest at the moment. He walked with her, looking around on the way to see if he could spot any details he had missed during his time out here.

"Thinking about where to get dinner?"

She gives him a little shrug and grin. "I did work up an appetite with jogging earlier ... but there's only so much you can do, here." For someone who isn't used to such inactivity. Maybe you could teach her some meditation Genji.

"I envy you, being content to just sit on the beach like that." She nods her head back to where she'd originally found him.

"It is nothing to envy as you can learn to. Besides, in idleness comes regret."

What he's trying to say that if you're given to much free time to think, you will inevitably start dragging your mind back to things you can't change but wish you would have done something different in that moment.

"Clearing my mind and focusing is what I do to stay mentally active."

"I'm well aware of that truth." She's quite familiar with the regret part, at the very least thoughts travelling where you'd rather them not go unless you've got something else to focus on. It's part of the reason she trains so hard.

"Would you mind teaching me sometime?"

"I cannot be a teacher but I can be a tutor."

Semantics, really, but Genji didn't feel that he was skilled enough to be called teacher. That would be disrespectful to his own teacher, in his mind.

"I would be more than happy to impart what knowledge I can."

"Thank you, Genji, I appreciate it." She smiles warmly over at him. She's not expecting some Mondottan Monk Intensive, but just relaxing and letting her mind still is never something she's been good at and any help she can get, she'll take.

By now they've reached the floatypuffs kiosk ad procure a ride, soon finding themselves lazily floating above the beach with a spectacular view. For a while it's rendered Fareeha speechless, and she's just happy to be up in the air again.

Genji sat in the cloudlike contraption cross legged, taking a moment of comfort while he could. These kinds of rides reminded him of his youth but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing though it did add a sense of wonderment to the equation.

"It is not often a break like this can be taken. Thankfully, such a break can be spent with this view."
