IN BRIGHTEST DAY - Mod Plot [LOG POST | 1 | THE RINGS CHOOSE]
Who| Everyone participating in the plot
What| Finding the lost Lanterns and getting Lantern rings
Where| The remains of the sentient, once-living planet Mogo, at the edge of the galaxy
When| After the network post
Warnings/Notes| N/A for now.
Their little adventure took them to the edge of the galaxy. Towards the end, they couldn't even use the threshold gates anymore, due to star-weights and gravity wells crushing and constructing the way there. Instead, they had to rely on the stargate abilities of their ringwielding allies.
Their journey ended in a strange and beautiful nebula at the very edge of the galaxy, one that had swirling gases in blue and green and violet and indigo. There, they found a dead, broken planet, the remains of the being once named Mogo, with four ancient structures.
The Green Lantern Central Power Battery. The Central Power Battery of the Star Sapphires -- the violet Lanterns. The Blue Lantern Central Power Battery. The Indigo Tribe Central Power Battery.
And in piles and piles around these ancient sources of power...were rings. Countless rings in all four colors. All without owners.
"Who dares disturb the resting site of the Green Lantern Corps?" an ominous voice said from the shadows after they landed.
"We come in peace," called out Kid Quantum. "Several groups of ringwielders were pulled against their will into this universe from a time and place when the War of Light was still ongoing. Some of those ringwielders were from the red and yellow Lantern Corps. Those who wear rings of green, violet, blue, and indigo, want to stop them from reigniting the war in this universe. They want to capture the red and yellow Lanterns and take them back home to their universe and time."
"And who are you?" the man asked.
"Kid Quantum, of the Legion of Superheroes. The Legion protects the people of this galaxy, the citizens of the United Planets, and we offered our aid to these displaced Lanterns. We heard that remnants of the Corps that were allied against the Red and Yellow Lanterns possibly existed on the edges of the galaxy. We've come seeking your help."
"It does my heart glad to learn of you," the voice said slowly. "We wondered if anyone else had ever risen up to take our place. But we had to stay here, to guard the last remnants, to watch over the Power Batteries and the rings. To make sure they were never used again. With the various Corps gone, anyone seeking them would only have wanted to misuse them."
The man stepped out of the shadows and now he glowed with the light of his green ring.
"I am Sodam Yat." He gestured to two other glowing figures that joined him. One was just a teeny speck of light, as if the being was normally too small to be seen by the naked eye. This was because the Lantern was a benevolent, superintelligent smallpox virus. The other was a battered robot that used his ring's energy in replacement of some of his parts.
"This is Leezle Pon." The speck. "And Stel." The robot. "We're the last of the Green Lanterns."
He looked at the Lanterns the Legion had traveled with and was clearly overcome with emotion at seeing faces that were, for him, 1000 years gone.
"I never dreamed that this could happen." He inclined his head at them all. "It's wonderful to be able to welcome you home."

[RICHARD RIDER, OF EARTH. YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO OVERCOME GREAT FEAR. WELCOME TO THE GREEN LANTERN CORPS.]
All of those that were accepted as Green Lanterns felt power surging through them the moment they received their rings. The power of the green rings was steady and true -- and one that altered the minds of its wielders the least.
Like all of those accepted into the Green Lantern Corps, his costume changed so that it had green and black and white on it, with the symbol of the Green Lanterns emblazoned somewhere on his person. And like all of those accepted into the Corps, he'd find that he had the ability to change said costume.
OTA
The light that poured forth from the energy vents in the suit was now green instead of white, and the blue glow of his eyes changed to a bright green glow. Rich stopped making an energy tentacle out of Nova Force to replace his missing arm and instead created an arm out of green ring energy instead. He looked down in delight as he wiggled the construct's perfectly formed fingers.
Then he looked down at himself to eyeball the costume.
"Eeeh, I still think I look better in blue." The blue ring whizzed close again and he shooed it away. "Hey, you had your chance. Get lost."

His own armor had adopted a similar, overly green color scheme, along with the Green Lantern insignia where his Legion one had been. Overall it was much brighter than what he normally wore.
"My friend Solaire, for instance, wore a large, bright, and very yellow sun insignia on his armor and shield. He drew them himself, so he was quite proud, but still, not what I would choose."
no subject
Not that the ranks really meant anything to him. He'd started a centurion at the tender age of 17, after all, and had gotten his powers under unusual circumstances.
no subject
He used his ring--which he'd spent a few minutes getting the hang of the basics--to conjure up an image of his old friend's crest. Though it was entirely green, the idea got across.
"He was a valiant warrior, but his choice of heraldry was unusual, to say the least."
no subject
Kings and lords and whatnot.
"It's strange. A lot of things you talk about sound like things from my world's past, but then other stuff makes it clear you're from an entirely different world."
no subject
"Solaire was Astoran, lad, just like me. Though Gwyn, Lord of Sunlight was a central figure in most of our religions, that symbol was his design alone. Not that individuals having their own mark is unusual, as Astora is somewhat known as the land of adventurers."
Wanderlust and bravery were often considered the defining traits of the land of Astora.
"Truly, though, it is uncanny how some things change, and others remain the same. From what I have read, this world seemed to have had an age with conventions and practices similar to my own world. And from what I have gathered, it is the same in every other reality with this world known as Earth, yet my own world is so very different from Earth in many ways."

He wracked his brain trying to remember things from history class. There wasn't a lot. He'd never been much of a history buff.
He'd never been much of a student in general.
"There were plagues and it was still kings and queens and all that. World governments evolved after that. To all different governments -- including democracies like the UP."
no subject
"Astora is quite fond of its nobility, even among the lower classes, for they both have a strong relationship with one another. I doubt many would clamor for democracy even if they knew of it. Though I suppose if Anor Londo followed such a form of governance, many of my world's problems might not have ever happened."
The concept seemed sound to Alexander, at least, though honestly he could go either way on the issue. Perhaps he was just old fashioned.

Hal...looked no different than usual, save for the green aura and the ring he'd been missing now back on his finger.
no subject
He started focusing the power of the ring, creating his first constructs. What came first, the first ideas that popped into his head, were constructs of Centurions. It was instinct to draw them up, to call on their memory.
They were all in green but one of them was a woman with lighter green hair than the others, as if it was a bright blonde or white.
"You can do anything with this."
no subject
Kyle could solve a crisis with a bear, a can of bug spray, and a hammock. He never limited himself to the obvious.
"It's got as much finesse as you want it to. As much anything as you want it to."
no subject
He could be creative when it came to tactics.
"But that's not like...artistic or anything."
no subject
Big green boxing gloves and big green jets. Hal went other places sometimes, but for the most part, it was obvious what he was about.
no subject
He was actually a little nervous about that. The Surfer could've injured him like that either way. Even if he'd still had his invulnerability, there would've been nothing stopping him from rearranging his molecules as he saw fit.
But this was different.
"I lost my powers a few times off and on, but for the most part I haven't been this squishy since I was twenty-one. If I follow through on some of my usual fighting instincts I'm gonna shatter bones."
That was when he'd gotten his powers back and kept them (for the most part).
no subject
"You know, a few other Lanterns came up with a formation once. Protocol 1013, battle formation 16. Adaptable if you have greater numbers, but it's meant for at least three. One to form the legs and the waist, one the chest and the arms...and one the head."
no subject
"So they basically decided to be an 80's cartoon and form a super robot to save the galaxy. Is what you're saying."
The mental image of Green Lanterns forming Voltron had pretty much just made his day.

He gestured with his thumb to where Sam was.
"Especially since it'd come out something like that."
Their costumes weren't entirely identical but they were similar.
no subject
"Look, I was cool with everything about this until I got to the part where I had rocks growing out of me and was put in a thong."
no subject
A pause.
"Actually, I take that back. The thong sounds more unpleasant. So they sound almost equal parts unpleasant."
He looked thoughtful.
"That crystal thing don't sound right." None of the other rings had done something that strange. He didn't like it. "What exactly was it like?"
no subject
Because why not.
"And then came the thong."
no subject
"Yeah, that all just sounds wrong. All kinds of wrong."
The unwanted thong was especially...disrespectful. To say the least. But the crystal thing sounded almost like it had changed something.
"I say this as someone who routinely has gotten superpowers from intergalactic police forces, at this point. Routinely."
They came with a costume change but nothing like that, and while he'd been put in a temporary coma by his powers the first time, that was the worst of the damage.
"Do you feel any different?"
no subject
Why, god. Why?!
"Hal said that the violet rings are all about love and that they can get kind of, uh... brainwashy? But I haven't gotten to that last part yet."
