PIIIIIIIPE WREEEEEENCH FIIIIIIIIIGHT
Who| Wash and others
What| Murderworld. So much Murderworld.
Where| All over the arena - locations are in toplevels
When| Murderworld! Late day 1, all of day 2, and early day 3
Warnings/Notes| Violence for days. Most of these have been planned using the almighty spreadsheet - if you want to plan something, feel free to poke me on plurk!
Get pulled from a perfectly benign covert mission to be thrown into a bad Hunger Games ripoff run by someone with zero sense of style or humor. Survive, probably on his own, until help comes or he manages to escape. Sure. Okay.
What could possibly go wrong?

The thought barely crosses his mind before one of the monsters, just out of his and Casey's lines of vision, launches itself out of the shadows and tackles Casey, the impact and momentum carrying them both into and then through a window-
"Casey!" Wash yanks his knife out of the monster, which shrieks and goes limp, and sprints for the window. There's a hockey stick in the frame and a glove still hanging onto it and thank God Casey hasn't plummeted to his death. "Hang on!" He grabs Casey's wrist in both hands, braces himself against the window frame, and pulls as hard as he can.

He's trying to keep his eye on the robot while pulling himself upward, but that proves to be too difficult to keep up for long. The clanking and whirring starts again as Casey feels the overgrown dishwasher climbing up on him, dragging on his clothes as it goes.
He still has some stamina in the death grip he has on the stick and Wash's wrist, but he's not going anywhere until the clockwork monster is off him. Or the stick breaks. Or his arms fall off.

Fortunately - and it could really only be fortunately in this case - that machinery is climbing up Casey. "Hold on tight," he mutters, maintaining his death grip with one hand and going for his knife with the other. When the clockwork drone gets within arm's reach, he glares at it and it freezes. Good. He doesn't have much time - better get to work.
One swift, precise stab between the metal plating on the neck severs pipes and leaves the creature screaming. It takes more work to get an arm off, but after a few seconds of forceful but precise stabbing (during which his other arm starts to ache and then burn; he can not support this much weight for long) he manages to cut through enough pipes and weaken enough joints for the clockwork monster's arms to disconnect at the elbows, joints too weak to continue to support the monster's dangling weight. It falls, a very long way down, and finally shatters into twisted casing and broken pipes on the ground outside.
Wash doesn't spare the time to watch - he's too busy yanking Casey back through the window and onto solid ground. "Well, that was fun."

But unlike Wash, he spares a glance downward as the machine plummets to the ground before he's all the way inside and on his feet, breathing heavy and blood coursing with adrenaline. He's laughing, but it's the involuntary action of a guy who's coming down from a high.
"That was awesome." He means it. They fought off some monsters and he didn't have to get his guts hosed off the pavement. And he also means it when he turns to Wash and says "Thanks, man."

Come to think of it, he should probably find the Harrubians that ran off and make sure they don't need help. One thing at a time.
"No problem." He turns back to Casey and raises an eyebrow. "Now don't ever do that again. If I ever have to pull someone off a high place to keep them from falling to their death again, it'll be too soon."
