Out With the Old [modplot]

Who| Everyone who signed up
What| The rescue of the NPC Legionnaires
Where| A movie studio in New New York
When| Takes place the same time as "Books of Magic"
Warnings/Notes| N/a

The studio where the Legionnaires are being held is swarming with supervillains. It's a trap, of course. But that doesn't mean they have to walk right into it. They have a plan, and now it's time to put it into action.

The Legion of Supervillains are expecting the non-native Legionnaires to be pushovers. They're about to discover just how crushingly, devastatingly wrong they are.

Usually when things are loud, chaotic, and everything's on fire? It's the way they've planned things to happen. There wasn't anywhere in the plan for fire and chaos and yelling at this point- and for the leadership to go quiet one after the other?

Unfortunate.

Bruteshot in hand The Meta jogs to the source of the noise, catching only the tail end of that rather impressive charge. Tech based, not something he can take. Even if they want it. A quick scan brings up a familiar (friendly) outline and signature-

Washington. But no sign of Epsilon. No sign of any AI or- anything other than Wash doing what Wash does best. Find trouble and ride it out. A moment's consideration is given before he slings his weapon on his back and braces himself- simply walking out as casually as possible. They remember enough fragments of who and what they used to be to hold the ruse until they can best assess the situation.

Despite himself, Reinhardt couldn't help but smirk as Mastermind slammed her head against her own shield. The old man practically radiating confidence, as he straightened from his charging stance, and scoffed at the passed-out leaders.

"I believe there is a saying from when I was a child that applies right now," Reinhardt spoke up, his smirk practically audible. Not even paying attention to the rest of the fighting as he slung his hammer over his shoulder, getting one last jab in.

"Get good, scrubs."

The vertigo passes quickly enough, and Wash manages to successfully remove the cuffs from Karate Kid. He looks up in time to see Mastermind ricochet off her own shield and doesn't bother to stop a vicious grin from spreading across his face. His helmet will hide it anyway, and dammit, he deserves the half a second to revel in something going right for a change. "Reinhardt, when this is over, I owe you a beer."

That's when his HUD marks another set of armor in his peripherals. He's been through a few sets of armor himself - enough that he's lost a lot of saved data, including old markers - but that silhouette is unmistakable.

But timeline shenanigans are a known issue here, and this could either be very good or very bad. For a moment, Wash freezes. He doesn't know-

And he can't help but hope.

He straightens up, voice just barely loud enough to be heard when he speaks. "Maine?"
