Out With the Old [modplot]

Who| Everyone who signed up
What| The rescue of the NPC Legionnaires
Where| A movie studio in New New York
When| Takes place the same time as "Books of Magic"
Warnings/Notes| N/a

The studio where the Legionnaires are being held is swarming with supervillains. It's a trap, of course. But that doesn't mean they have to walk right into it. They have a plan, and now it's time to put it into action.

The Legion of Supervillains are expecting the non-native Legionnaires to be pushovers. They're about to discover just how crushingly, devastatingly wrong they are.

>> distraction

His first position is just a starting point. Being flexible, he takes on the role of filler, supplying back-up whenever they need it. With the vents are already taken by one team, and the obvious distraction dropping in through the roof, he takes to the backstage. It reminds him of the Rimborian assassins, a job that had landed right in his lap and caused him to run into Sombra for the first time during his early Legionnaire stint.

Whoever it is he's teamed up with (if at all), he interacts very sparsely with them unless they initiate contact first. If the intel the other Legionnaires have been feeding him are correct, then he'll need all his wits about him. No mistakes. No letting his guard down due to unfamiliar territory. Not this time.

Gun in hand, he's carrying non-lethal rounds and stun grenades instead of the usual low-impact grenades he usually carries. It's not ideal, nor does he have any faith that it'll stop a group of super-powered individuals that the majority don't know much about, but rules are rules. As always, he treats it like a handicap.

>> offense

If you need the big guns, Reaper can provide. Sure, he's only got the one because of someone (Wash), but even the non-lethal stuff can pack a punch if you know what to do with them. Point blank, that stuff can leave a man unconscious for hours or cause a concussion if he aims for a head-shot. So, it'll do.

Call him, and he'll respond.

Once the initial plan is enacted, hostages all safe and the psychic lady shut down, Dave's a free agent too. He pulled his timestop for Barry and got the fuck out of dodge to avoid getting hit with Wash's power whammy, and his escape out of range landed him neatly backstage, crouching out of sight of the main conflict for a moment while he catches his breath. Stopping time in such a large area is pretty tiring, goddamn.

Somehow, he is completely unsurprised to see Reaper skulkinn around back here. Straighting back up, Dave greets him with just a little incline of his head, voice pitched low to avoid drawing attention back here. Gotta stay sneaky.

"What's up, you camera-shy? Don't be, dude, you're beautiful and you should be sharing that beauty with the universe on live space-TV."

Dave's presence barely gets a glance from him, taking care not to move too much. The downside to wearing such a brightly toned outfit (going from blacks and reds, to white and blues) is that he's prone to being spotted if he moves too much. Fortunately, being backstage means less prying eyes, but with the surprise attack from above? He's banking on the 'villains' dispersing into small groups to deal with any of the rookie Legionnaires and expanding their perimeter.

"What's the rush?" He finally mutters, the compliment regarded as something completely facetious and of course, ignored. Dave does have a point, though. He should probably get moving in a couple of minutes and deal with any scragglers moving away from the main group.

"Besides, limelight's not all it's cracked up to be."

"Nothing big," he replies smoothly, shrugging and leaning out to sneak a peek at the current situation out on the main stage. Hiccup dealing with the metal dude, Cortana getting Brainy to safety, still all good shit. "Just a busload of supervillains looking to execute our teammates and kill all of us if possible."

Glancing back over to Reaper, Dave takes a moment to finally look over the new costume, and a brow arches up over his shades. "Nice look, by the way."

They won't succeed, he thinks to himself. All things considered, Reaper is feeling pretty zen. This feels more familiar, superhero powers notwithstanding, but at least there's no nightmare creature going around turning everyone into its mindless and monstrous pawns. This is considerably more toned down in his book.

"The old gear needed to be replaced."

The monster transformation of his wasn't kind to the leather at all.
